The Evolution of Geometry Wars Naturally Selects Nintendo

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

360 is a no go for Geomety Wars 2.
Nintendo Power magazine unearths the news that Geometry Wars: Galaxies is drifting its way to the Nintendo Wii and DS. Jam packed with an extensive single-player campaign and multiplayer modes, the franchise is multiplying in a new direction. And the best part: It’s a Nintendo exclusive.

The most popular game on XBLA with the most anticipated sequal gets sucked away from loyal 360 owners. Many hearts will break when graced with the reality that Microsoft let this one fly away. Did Nintendo pay top dollar for exclusivity? It may be far-fetched to think that GeoWars is a system seller (especially since Retro Evolved fans already own the system). But, Nintendo is playing Top Dog by retrieving this smash title.

Even the Geomety Wars champion, K4rn4ge, says, “I may just have to buy a DS or a Wii.”

Each platform will utilize its unique traits to enhance the shape-shooting action: the Wii version will feature motion controls and the DS will use the touch screen. Oh, and purists need not be worried about the new additions to the game — the original XBLA version will be included, as well. Expect a Fall release.

Shivering Isles - $30 Expansion - Out Now!

Yes! You heard that right! It was supposed to arrive tomorrow, but made it to the marketplace today. The download will cost you 2,400 Microsoft points ($30) and 1 Gig of space on your harddrive. Good luck finding an MS Point Card that high.

Can you believe this? A thirty dollar Marketplace download? Let’s hope EA’s not taking notes, ’cause this could be the start of a mess not even Major would want to clean up.

*Note, you must go to all downloads, then Oblivion to find this download. If you go to newly released, it will not show up.
So what are you waiting for? Go get it now!

Jetpac Refuelled Blasts onto XBLA Wednesday

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Rare is shelling out a new XBLA title, ”Jetpac Refuelled”!

Rare’s adaptation of the game is a revamped and modernized version of the 1983 classic space blaster “Jetpac.” The Mission: Clear a path through hordes of aliens to refuel your ship while getting filthy rich! Watch the video…

*128 hi-definition levels
*200 Gamerpoints in 12 achievements and Leaderboards.
*Two player multiplayer action, local and LIVE.
*BONUS: Includes the original 1983 Jetpac with 16 levels.
*PRICE: 400 Microsoft Points.

While I like the price, I don’t see much innovation here. Anyone gonna get it?

Halo 3 Confirmed Fall Release, Legendary Edition $130

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Are you sure you love HALO?

Earlier today, it was finally confirmed that Halo 3 would be aimed at a “Fall” release time. This comes just after constant rumors earlier this week about Halo 3 hitting store shelves in September. Of course, no actual day was given just yet, Nor month for that matter. But they did divulge on some details for the 3 editions you’ll be able to purchase this fall.

Legendary Edition: Remember when we were all under the assumption of the Legendary edition being $100 dollars? Not the case. This killer piece of fanboy-Madness will retail for $129.99. Just what does that get you?

A Haster Chief Helmet
Halo 3 Storyboard Art
2 Bonus DVDs, packed with extra goodies!
(Behind the scenes look at the Making of Halo 3, and a tour
through Bungie Studios, An Audio/Video calibration utility
to get your fragging sound just right.)
Then, the second disc is actually an exclusive to the
Legendary Edition. It comes with Remastered versions of
all the cinematics fromt he first two Halo games,
commentary from the team at bungie, some Red vs. Blue
Action, and a quick day in Bungie studios video compilation.

Is all that worth your $130? If you think so, don’t hesitate any longer! Go to your nearest game store and see if they are still taking Pre-Orders on the legendary. Do it now!

For those of you who could care less about the legendary edition… you’re in luck! Just so happens you don’t have to sell your children for the two versions below.

The special edition will sell for $69.99, and will include the game, the first bonus disc from the legendary edition, and hopefully a fancy case. (Hey Bungie, how about another metal case?)

And last but not least is your standard edition. It will sell at $59.99, and will include the game only.

Count on more news arriving soon! If they plan on releasing in the fall, we have to see something soon… right?

Salutations and Savings, Pocket $10 on DDR

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Hello all!

Late last week (about Friday), I stumbled upon something at work that I wanted to share with all of you XBL readers/listeners.

Now hopefully some of you are into the great game Dance Dance Revolution. If you are like me, you are really excited for the latest iteration of this dance game on the 360. If you just haven’t had the time to pick up your copy, I’ve got good news that might give you enough incentive to act soon!

I discovered that Game Crazy is selling Dance Dance Revolution Universe with the Dance Pad, for $69.99 instead of the standard $79.99 that almost all other retailers are selling it for! $10 off regular price! I don’t know if this is a glitch in the system, or if this is a Game Crazy exclusive… whatever the case is, call your local Game Crazy, or just stop in and see if this deal is happening in your local store.

With that being said, I hope many of you can take advantage of this great deal while it lasts!

I saw this post up at Joystiq and since I am the Marketplace man I thought I would bring this to your attention, plus I have been asking for this forever and you guys know this. First Alien Homanid 4 sure next week then this lil diddy! Is this a sign of XBL Arcade actually pulling a 360?

This Quote Via Joystiq.com Via Xbox 360 fanboy.com
“This pair of images might indicate that Konami’s coin-op classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is currently up on PartnerNet, Xbox Live Arcade’s beta testing network. But let’s not confuse our burning desire with reality. The Turtle rights are now in Ubisoft’s hands, so re-releasing this arcade romp is gonna take some finessing. It’s not improbable, but without an official announcement joining these screens, TMNT isn’t confirmed for XBLA either. Besides, Konami’s already got six other arcade ports clogged in the pipeline. ”
