The Evolution of Geometry Wars Naturally Selects Nintendo

Nintendo Power magazine unearths the news that Geometry Wars: Galaxies is drifting its way to the Nintendo Wii and DS. Jam packed with an extensive single-player campaign and multiplayer modes, the franchise is multiplying in a new direction. And the best part: It’s a Nintendo exclusive.
The most popular game on XBLA with the most anticipated sequal gets sucked away from loyal 360 owners. Many hearts will break when graced with the reality that Microsoft let this one fly away. Did Nintendo pay top dollar for exclusivity? It may be far-fetched to think that GeoWars is a system seller (especially since Retro Evolved fans already own the system). But, Nintendo is playing Top Dog by retrieving this smash title.
Even the Geomety Wars champion, K4rn4ge, says, “I may just have to buy a DS or a Wii.”
Each platform will utilize its unique traits to enhance the shape-shooting action: the Wii version will feature motion controls and the DS will use the touch screen. Oh, and purists need not be worried about the new additions to the game — the original XBLA version will be included, as well. Expect a Fall release.

Sounds like you’ll have to get theropy Rusty. However most of us have moved on. I admit GEO wars was a great game (being the only game in town helped) I’ll put it this way: At closing time your not that picky.
Howevr being that I have a Wii I probably still wont play it.
I know I sound unloyal to the GEO thing, but it’s like: been there…done that.
I’m sure there will be some hurt gamers whose sole purpose on the 360 was shooting shapes and trying to avoid the onslaught of rectangles, circles, and jacks. No wait that was just you RUSTY!

Does this mean that Rusty will leave XBLRadio and start a new WiiRadio show?
A campaign for Geometry Wars? That sounds silly. I’d love to see the cutscenes for that story. “Why did you try and hurt me green Square? Is it because I killed your father, the blue circle?”

Hey, don’t blame be because your passion for gaming has dwindled. You bought into the corporate jive and became a “play-for-a-week-and-move-on” gamer. Leaving you with insanely high expectations for games and sucking out all the joy of the experience.
I appreciate all the dollars I spend on gaming and if I love a $5.00 game just because I was diligent enough to get very good at it, then don’t knock me for that. I’m sorry if I don’t move on fast enough for you.

I own several DS’s, and I thankfully couldn’t find a Wii when I still wanted one. IF I get the itch to play, it’ll be the DS all the way. I’ve never been good at Geo Wars and I still have NO reason to buy a Wii.

Screw GEO, pick up JET-PACK Refueled.

Actually, I think TeeTocks is on to something. Except, we need some Nutella too.
Honestly, I’m afraid of how GeoWars would transfer to DS/Wii. I’m curious, but afraid it’ll turn out to be an absolute waste of time. The biggest problem? 5$ was a reasonable price point for Geometry Wars, but 30 (which would probably be the lowest that would be charged) is a kick in the circles. It’s not just cost that becomes a problem though. Controls are everything on the XBLA version, and neither the Wii, or the DS have the proper controller layout for GeoWars. And the last problem, of course.. is that it isn’t a Bizarre game, meaning it’s almost destined to fail. I wish this weren’t the case, but it seems that people are realizing how big Geometry Wars is, and are trying to milk it for as much as they can get from it. (Imagine, walking into a store in the next year, and finding GeoWars pajamas, cereal, coffee cups, car vinyls, necklaces, pen toppers, and maybe… a cartoon. Heck, if Viva Pinata could get away with all of this, surely GeoWars can too.
