Gaming night

It looks like this week the winner of the voting is Rainbow Six: Vegas. If you would like to join our awesome community of gamers just go here in our forums for the info of how to join us. We have a XBL Radio gaming night every Saturday night at 7pm pacific and 10pm eastern. Now I had one person ask me why Rainbow Six every week, so I figured I would address is here, we leave the voting up to you guys, the gamers. Its simple, whatever gets the most votes we will START off playing. That does not mean we will not play other things as well, but that just says we will start off playing that. Like tomorrow night, we will start off in R6V but we will probably get a little time in GOW or GRAW2 as well. So join us Saturday in our gaming night, it will be an awesome time with a bunch of causal gamers, (we are not hardcore, just a bunch of people trying to have a fun time). And mid next week, be sure to visit our forum to vote on next weeks game, especially if R6V isn’t your thing (I’m voting on R6V and GRAW2 next week).

If this is any indication then I’m guessing yes, but we will find out for sure once Major Nelson’s newest top 10 games list is up.

Remember Steve’s Dilemma?

Posted by: Steve519 on June 11th, 2007
Send an Xbox Live message to Steve519

Remember last week or the week before where I was undecided about what I should do with my Best Buy dollars and my Wii? Well I made up my mind yesterday. Best Buy was having a special on the HD DVD player where if you bought it they threw in any two HD DVD’s under 29.99 for free. So along with King Kong that also comes in the box, you get three movies valued at 100 dollars for free by buying the Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD player.

So I went ahead and I took that route and now I am a proud owner of a HD-DVD player. And I have to say, I watched 40 Year Old Virgin last night and wow! It was very pretty. I mean, you were able to see the blood trickling out when they waxed his chest, it was awesome. Plus I love the menus on HD DVD’s too, there just pretty cool. So since I have one, expect a review soon.

But wait, there’s more. While I was at Best Buy I received an email about my Wii. Someone wanted to do a straight trade: their PS3 with 3 games and a movie, for my Wii with 3 games. So I got back with him because this sounds like an awesome trade for me. He said that he wanted to do this ASAP because the Wii was going to be a present for his son. We ended up meeting at my house to verify that everything is just fine and it was, so we did our trade and now I am also a owner of a PS3 and a Blue Ray player.

So if your doing the math I now have a HD DVD Player, 3 HD DVD movies, a PS3, 3 PS3 games and 1 Blue Ray movie. And all I had to do was spend 100 cash and trade my Wii. Doesn’t all that sound like an awesome deal?

Steer Itunes Subscibers our way and WIN!

As you know I use iTunes to download all of my Podcasts (Even ours). Lately I have noticed our cast lacks what many of the others have: REVIEWS.

So write a review in iTunes, and once we hit 50 reviews, you could steer-clear of forking out your hard earned dough for this 360 periphrial:

Just go to iTunes and tell others why you honestly listen to our podcast and we’ll draw a winner from the reviews. Click here for our cast on iTunes.

Also tell your friends we need at least 50 reviews before a winner will be drawn.

Now I know what your thinking: This is just a shameless ploy to get noticed by iTunes subscribers. My answer is YUP. However if you’re not a listener or a viewer of the site it doesn’t matter. Also since this Xbox 360 Wireless Stearing Wheel cost me full price at release, I want something out of it.

This is your opportunity to help others (listen to a great Podcast) and help yourself (by feeling that you made more potential listeners aware of the show) oh and you got a cool 360 racing wheel as well.

New Developer? Big Brother Game Studios

We’ve all heard of starving arts. Well what about starving game developers? It looks like that may be the new phrase in the UK. The French already have a tax credit of 20% off the total cost up to $3.91 million a year for a game with a cultural value. It looks like there are more to come in the UK.

My question, is this a good thing? Could we see games change over time, if the government is able to get their hand in on the action? Who knows we may even see a game where the French save London.

You can find the article at Businessweek.

No Xbox 360 Price Drops Announced

Posted by: Steve519 on June 8th, 2007
Send an Xbox Live message to Steve519

I have to say, its a little disappointing to me that the price has not dropped. It could really help the 360 on the console war while at the same time hurting the other two systems but oh well I guess. (maybe they haven’t dropped price because they need to recoup all that lost money from all the broken 360’s that we have had)

as per GSB:

We’ve seen the coverage from Bloomberg reporting a price drop by this holiday, and since I haven’t heard anything about a price drop, I thought I’d go right to the source. I asked David Hufford to clarify, and he sent me an email, and told me I could share it.

David writes (my emphasis and links):

“Some are getting really spun up about the Bloomberg story and inaccurately reading tea leaves that don’t exist. I spoke to Bloomberg nearly two months ago and we were talking about NPD data that had just been released, and chatting generally about price points of consoles in the market. The comment, which is accurately reported, unfortunately has now been taken way out of context and being reported as if I am signaling a price drop. I was not, I am not.

With Xbox 360s selling well at their current price point, Elites selling out at $479, and an insanely great portfolio of games in the market, there’s no reason to announce any kind of price drop anytime soon.

BTW, what’s up with the picture in Kotaku? What was I, like 12? Huff.”
