Next Metal Gear Title coming to the 360?

Posted under Game Releases, Games, Metal Gear Solid 4, Microsoft, Mr B4, Nintendo, Rumor Control, Websites, Wii, XBL Radio, Xbox 360, Xbox Live

Metal Gear Image

Hey what is up XBL Radio listeners, B4 here bring you the latest news as to what is going on in the gaming community.

I found an image on n4g.com today, that was released by the Kojima Productions website, and from the looks of it, it looks like that a new Metal Gear game should be on its way very soon. The only problem with this is from the looks of this image, it seems to me that the next title in the series will not be releasing on the PS3. A lot of speculation is taking place that this next game could release on the 360 because of the green lights and power button, on the Wii or DSi because of the exclamation points, on the ipod touch for the same reason, or on the PC because of the power button as well. There has also been speculation that this might have something to do with Metal Gear Acid, because of the exclamation points as well.

Whatever way you look at it, PS3 owners are set to be dissappointed this time around. The question that I pose is, are you excited that a new Metal Gear game is coming out, or are you disappointed that the franchise is not staying exclusive to the PS3?

Either way, I will let you, the gamers, make the call

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off

Take Care,

Mr B4

The real reason behind Sonic’s next-gen stumbles is?

Posted under Game Releases, Games, Microsoft, Mr B4, Podcast, Websites, XBL Radio, Xbox 360

Sonic

Keep in mind, there was a discussion about this on the latest .5 show, but I felt like I had just a little bit more to say about this.

What is up XBL Radio listeners, B4 here to talk to you about something that has been on my mind for awhile. Want to know what it is?. It is a question as to why recent games that feature the speedy, blue, spikey-haired Sonic the Hedgehog have not emphasized the one aspect that made his earlier titles so great, speed, and stuck with ideas that in the end become more of a gimmick, than a successful new idea, such as the Werehog.

I was browsing around some articles on a few different gaming websites to figure out why this has happenned. I came across one article from indoorheroes.com, written by Chris Thomas, that featured an excerpt from the IGN Three Lights Podcast. David Clayman, the host of the podcast, recalled a time in which he talked to a member of the Sonic Unleashed team about why recent Sonic games have tried out new ideas (like the Werehog) that have not been successful, and have not just put the emphasis on the one element that has made these games successful in the past, speed.

Here is what David Clayman recalled from the conversation:

“I asked one of the developers at TGS, you know I was like, come on everybody just wants Sonic running, like whats up with the werehog? And he was like, well, heres the deal… he runs at this miles per hour, kilometers per hour, and he laid out all of the statistics on how fast this hedgehog goes, and he was like In order to make a game where Sonic is running and everybody enjoys the whole thing we’d have to design this many miles of level, and it was some ungodly number. And he’s like and that would be like maybe a three hour game and I was like wow, well that kinda stinks and he’s like yeah, so we gotta do this other stuff.”

sonic day level

So basically what it boils down too is that it would take way too long for the creators to design miles and miles of levels for Sonic to speed his way through, and if a next-gen version of a Sonic game was made like that, it would be way too short in length. And that is why they add these new ideas to Sonic’s more recent games, to artificially add length to the game.

I personally think that this is a BS excuse as to why these games have been so bad. Honestly, if a three or four hour Sonic game came out, that just focused on speed, and was fun and enjoyable to play, I would have no problem paying $30 or $40 dollars for it, simply because it would be the next-gen Sonic game that fans of the series have been waiting for. I would even except a new XBLA game that focused on this aspect. It would not be a bad idea either, especially when most games on there take about the same amount of time to complete anyway, a new Sonic game would be the perfect fit with these types of games.

Please, for the love of god SEGA, I am telling you this now. If you do not make a decent Sonic game that just focuses on speed, you are going to lose out on the potential of this franchise real quick. Sonic does not deserve, and many of you gamers out there, like me, who have followed this series since it started deserve better than what we have been getting out of it lately.

Sonic, if you have one more bad game, you could end up running off of a cliff forever. Let us just hope that this does not happen anytime soon.

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off

Mr B4

New DS to come out later this year in Japan, no US release date confirmed

Posted under Mr B4, Nintendo, Rumor Control, Websites, XBL Radio

Nintendo DS Lite

What is up everybody at PN and XBL Radio, B4 here to give you the latest news as to what is going on in the gaming community. Today I actually have a news story for you from the world of Nintendo, so let us get right to it.

According to an article in which I found on the site gamesindustry.biz, which acquired this information from Nikkei Net, a new version of the DS that focuses on multimedia capabilities is set to release sometime this year in Japan.

Here are some of the new features that it will have:

1. Built in camera

2. Music playback capabilities

3. Improved wireless functions (not sure what this means, maybe better wi-fi support?)

4. Larger screens

I know it might seem like these new features are not all that special at first glance. If you take some time to think about it however, some of them might give a few titles that support wi-fi on the DS an even better chance, for the people who play them, to be more interactive with other people who play Nintendo games online.

Camera support could allow to import your face into a game, music playback might allow you to add your own soundtrack to a game, the possibilities are endless.

Now no pricing detail, or release date of the US version of this new system have been released yet, but it is said to cost JPY 20,000 in Japan, and will be releasing over there later this year.

When more details about this new version of the DS come out, I will let you know, until then, this is all I have to give you.

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off

Take Care,

Hey what is up everybody at PN and XBLRadio, Mr B4 here giving you the latest news as to what is going on in the gaming community. Today I have an announcement for you about the upcoming release of a game that everyone who is a gamer, whether they like sports or not, should know what it is. What am I talking about, I am talking about Madden NFL 09. I will be picking up both the 360 and Wii versions of this game tonight when I go to the midnight sale at my local Gamestop.

You might be asking yourself, well, it is just another Madden game with updated rosters and barely any new features at all. Why should I pick it up again? First of all the release of this game marks the 20 year anniversary of the franchise and you should also buy it because of some of the other great features that this game has to provide.

Here are some of the features that this latest installment is going to have, for both the Wii and 360/PS3:

Mega Man and Castlevania coming to Wii?

Posted under Game Releases, Games, Mr B4, Nintendo, Websites, Wii, XBL Radio

What is up everybody at PN and XBL Radio, it is Mr B4 here bringing you the latest as to what is going on in the Nintendo gaming community. I just came across some news recently that I thought you Nintendo gamers might be interested in. What news you might ask?, read on to find out.

The latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine has revealed that Castlevania Judgement and Mega Man 9 have been confirmed for both the Wii console and WiiWare download service. Lets take a minute or two to look at the details that have been revealed so far for these games. I am going to tell you honestly that it is not much, but at the very least it is something. Here is some info about these games:

Castlevania Judgement

CastleVania Judgement

Castlevania Judgement is going to be a 3D style fighter featuring famous characters from the Castlevania series. So far, I have found out that Alucard, Simon Belmount, Maria Renard, and Dracula have been confirmed as playable characters for the game. It was also confirmed that there will be interactive environments (IE Mortal Kombat Armageddon) for you to fight in, as well as bosses from the series that will drop in from time to time during battles to add some variety and extra difficulty to the game, and also the ability to use subweapons and hearts. No release date or price have been given as of yet, but expect an announcement on that sometime soon.

Mega Man 9

Mega Man 9 (Wiiware)

Capcom has also made an announcement that they will be bringing Mega Man 9 to the Wii’s WiiWare game downloading service. Here are the details that I have on the game so far. It is being developed by Inti Creates, which is the team who worked on the first three Mega Man X titles. It will stick to the 8-bit graphics of the original Mega Man series that came out on the NES. It was also said that the game controls like Mega Men 3-6 by the Mega Man Network(not sure if that is good or bad, but still confimed nonetheless). Other than that, the only other details that I could find about this game were the names of the bosses that you will be fighting.

Here are the names of the bosses:

* Magma Man

* Galaxy Man

* Jewel Man

* Concrete Man

* Hornet Man

* Plug Man

* Tornado Man

* Splash Woman

No release date or price has been given as of yet for this Wiiware game, but expect it to fall somewhere between 800 ($5.00) and 1000($10.00) Wii points.

Here are some of my quick thoughts about these games. It is nice to see Mega Man 9 stick to its original roots that made the game great back in the NES days, with the same graphics, gameplay, and types of boss fights that we have all grown to know and love over the years. Castlevania Judgement on the other hand, is a little bit of a risky idea, especially since previous fighting titles that have come out for the Wii have seen lackluster reviews by most gaming sites (IE Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Soulcalibur Legends). I would have like to have seen a Castlevania game that sticks to the formula that made its other titles successful in the past, but I am guessing that only time will tell on this one.

The choice as to whether or not you should buy, rent, or ignore these games, I will leave up to you.

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off.

Take Care,

Mr B4

Welcome to Mad World!

Posted under Game Releases, Games, Mr B4, Nintendo, Video, Websites, Wii, XBL Radio

Hey what is up everybody over at Platform Nation and XBL Radio, Happy Memorial Day! It is Mr B4 here to give you the latest news as to what is going on in the Nintendo World.

What I have for you this week is a trailer for a new game that is coming out for the Wii. The game is called Mad World, it is published by Sega, and is being developed by Platinum Games. There are a couple of reasons why I wanted to show you this trailer, the first being because it is a game that Desz and myself have mentioned on the last two episodes of TQ Cast, and I wanted to show you what we were talking about. The other reason is because there is always a complaint about how no good gruesome or good third-party titles seem to ever come out for the Wii, and this could be a game that might possibly do well in both categories.

Either Way, decide for yourself after you are done watching this trailer.

Take care gamers, and see you next time.

Take Care,

Mr B4

Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for Wii Nunchuk Controller Review

Posted under Mr B4, Nintendo, Review, Websites, Wii, XBL Radio

Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor

Hey what is up everybody, it is Mr B4 here bringing you the latest news about what is going on in the gaming community. I have not done it as often lately, and i do apologize for that. What i am going to be bringing to you today is a written review of a recent product i tried out for the Wii, which is called the Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for your Wii Nunchuk.

Even though it looks like the longest title ever for an article for XBL Radio, let us get right into the review anyways, shall Wii?

Here is the Review:

The product that i will be reviewing today is the Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for your Nunchuk controller. As you can tell from what i wrote above, this is a product or accessory that was made for the Nintendo Wii. What this product does is it converts the wired Nunchuk that you already have into a wireless Nunchuk controller. The MSRP on it is $19.99 and it can be found at Gamestop.com, Nyko.com, or at any other major video game retail store. It includes a holster for the main part of the Nunchuk, a sleeve to hide the wires of your Nunchuk in, a wireless adapter to connect the Wii remote to the Nunchuk, and two AA batteries for the holster.

Now going through the entire setup of this product in a written review might seem a little strange, but i will just say that you attach the Nunchuk into a holster that has a sleeve on it, tie the wires around the sleeve, then attach the remainder of it into an expansion slot on the holster, plug a wireless sensor into you Wii remote, press the power buttons on both of them, and Presto!, you have just made yourself a wireless Nunchuk.

Now that i went over the setup and description of it, let us get into the good and bad, or the pluses and minuses of this product, to see if it is really worth the price tag:

Pluses

+ Works well with any game that requires use of the Nunchuk

Here are a few games that i tried out, and they worked out great with this product:

* Madden NFL 08

* Deca Sports

* Wii sports

* Mario Galaxy

* Super Smash Bros. Brawl

+ Holder and Sleeve both feel comfortable to hold in your hand, makes it feel like you are actually using a regular Nunchuk.

+ Worth the $19.99 price tag, especially if you are the do-it-yourself kind of person.

Minuses

- Difficult to setup, takes a couple of tries just to hide the wires into the sleeve.

- Sometimes will show Wii remote as having a low battery life no matter how much you have charged your Wii remote prior to using this product.

So there you go, that was my written review of the Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for Wii Nunchuk Controller.I would give this product a buy if you are the do-it-yourself kind of person, if not, then check out the Wireless Nunchuk Controller that they have, it might work out better for you. Special thanks go out to Steve for hooking me up with a free review copy of this product, much appreciated.

Until next time gamers, this is Mr B4 signing off.

Take Care,

B4
