Microsoft quit teasing us!
Apperently Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was put up on the Xbox Live Marketplace and then removed shortly after someone realized that it wasn’t supposed to be up there.

How can a mistake like this happen? How can a game that is not supposed to be out for another month get released “by mistake”? Is Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 not complete yet? Is that why the rest of us who were not at the right place, at the right time have to wait?

Before anyone gets defensive, I’m not demanding answers. But don’t tell me it’s not reasonable to wonder how an accident like this can happen.
Why “teasing” in the headline? Remember the Vision Cam getting released at Toys ‘R’ Us by “mistake” almost a whole month before the release date? Many of us had to wait 3 days after the official release date for our stores to have them in stock.

My theory: I think this was planned to be put up there so that a select few people could download it and have it (maybe for testing perposes?), and then removed when they all confirmed the download.

Actually, I think they are just having issues with it. If it was a mistake, why would major nelson, and gamerscoreblog all have a news posting as well?

It might be because of yesterday’s slip-up, I don’t know, but the game’s now fully available on Marketplace! A whole four days early!

Just an FYI: Who can’t play Mortal Kombat on the P.C. they are reading this on? So all your really missing is spending MS Points and a few Acheivments? I’m sure it will be fun on LIVE, but I also think we over-react about these releases. After all, who in here actually thinks MK is an Arcade title they can’t wait another week for? Remember SF2? (all the hype about how it was going to be the shiznet on LIVE) As a matter of fact I usually wait til most of the Lab-Rats waste thier MS Points on certain games. Therefore I can measure if it’s worth mine. I only got GEO-WARS because many people said how great it was. I personally thought the last few MK games were just rehashes from what once was a good fighting game. Now it’s just a way for MS once again to hope you recognize a franchise and ante up more points.
Also prolonging the title only makes you want it that much more. (COINCIDENCE? You be the judge!)

I think that they are having issues. This early release, of MK, seems to be a cover-up. It may have been caused by someone hitting the wrong button; causing the realease to come out early. (either way I guess Weekend releases are not out of the question anymore)
