Back to school!

It is that time of year for me once again my gaming friends, I am heading back to college. The reason that I am writing this article is because I have been changing my major three times since i started going to college, way back in 2003. The major I have chosen this time is Broadcast Studio Production (Radio and TV to be exact). I chose this major due to the experiences I have had in radio, promotions, and in journalism that was provided to me from the great people at XBL Radio. Thank you everyone, I could not have done it without you.

Now I just wanted to reflect on some of the great moments I have had since becoming a member of XBLradio.

1. Community spotlight ver 3.0: My second opportunity to be on a radio or podcast show, given to me by Mr. Steve519 himself. Thank you Steve for taking the time to put up with my nervousness, nerdiness, and also my bad jokes.

Spyglass Board Games Review

For a long time 360 players were asking for a XBLA board game and they finally got it with the release of Spyglass Board Games. Spyglass was released at the beginning of this month and contains 4 board games; Reversi, Mancala, Checkers and Chess for 400msp or $5.

You can play either against the AI or do some multiplayer, but not locally, which makes no sense since none of these games require the other player to hide their cards or pieces like UNO. But the other features this game has, while kinda throwaway, are neat. Spyglass integrates achievements into the game by unlocking a new piece set for each achievement you unlock. And it also offers customization of the board and the background so you can find a look you like. But the biggest thing is the video chat included in the game, and this isn’t a dinky little window like UNO or the Hardwood games. This is a huge window so now you can actually see the person you’re playing with. And it also lets you cycle through the default camera effects on the fly as well as some new ones designed just for this game.

Trixie kicks Xbox blogger in the huevos

Trixie snapped last night, due to previous issues with certain hosts of the XBL Radio crew. Trixie lost it last night and she took her anger out on our own MrCarpalTunnel. Because of this very expected kung-fu action, unfortunately he has lost the ability to have any more kids and maybe even enjoy his “special time”. So lets all have a moment of silence for our MrCarpalTunnel, er ummm… Mrs. CarpalTunnel.
