I Thought Diamonds Were Forever

So I was drudging through my wallet the other day
and lo and behold what did I find?
My illustrious Xbox Live Diamond card!
Then as a bead of sweat dripped off my forehead and
my heart jumped a beat, “What was this I saw?”
My Xbox Live diamond card expires this month!

I then sat down and cried as I thought off all the
wonderful promotions and discounts I received while
using this gem that I kept in my wallet. What will I
do after this month? A new world without my diamond
card a waits.

It Came from the From the Forums:”The State of Launguage”

Recently, I have noticed a great horror with the youth of today. This horror, a travesty against the history of mankind travels at break-neck speeds across society, like a plague, a virus. It infects people, concentrating on those of lower or sub-standard education. It knows no race, colour, gender or religion. It only knows one thing, ignorance. This plague I speak of is none other than bad grammar.

The plague infects people’s brains, making them spell words incorrectly, not to mention lumpng the person’s thoughts into one, almost unintelligible conversation block. The concept of take one thought to completion before starting the next has eluded the youth of today. Using simple punctuation, or even breaking things down to paragraphs seems to be a long lost art, corroded away by digital ones and zeros.

I have noticed this new trend not so long ago, and with each passing day it gets noticeably worse. People lump all their thoughts in a chaotic, non-uniform manner, making it more and more difficult to understand what is said, let alone read it without pullng your own eyeballs out. The madness needs to stop. When you complete a thought, that indicates the conclusion of one paragraph so the next may begin.

I know the temptation to use netspeak like LOL, ROTF, WTF, RTFM, and so on, but please, it’s not necessary to use these things all the time, nor is it acceptable to only use netspeak. Would it kill you to write out “Dude, that was so funny I nearly wet my pants.” rather than LOL all the time? English society was not built upon lazy people, speaking the bare minimum that could be construed as English. No, I say. They spoke English.

I suggest before you get completely brain dead with this horrid pseudo-englsh, read this book. Learn how to compose proper arguments and articulate them in a well thought out and professional manner. Stop telling us about four different points in the same block of sentences (that’s called a paragraph), turn on your spell check, and write meaningful stuff, not mindless drvel.

Only you can prevent the loss of the English language.

Red Octane Strokes us with G.H.II.

Â
I haven’t even unlocked all the songs on G.H II (which has only been out for a week) and now I can go wild with my MS points?

Thats right! For just 500 points you don’t even get a “reach Around” by the Marketplace. Red Octane has already put out three packs of songs for you to buy at 500 MS Points Each.

($6.25 or about $2.00 a song)
*
pack 1 = Bark at the Moon, Hey You, Ace of Spades.
*pack 2 = Killer Queen,Take it off, Frankenstein
*pack 3 = Higher Ground, Infected, Stellar

From what I hear, the upcoming SinStar for the PS3 game will allow you to buy the songs individually. No word if you will be able to transfer the $2.00+ songs to your mp3 player.

All three packs would make the game come to a ballpark: $115.00 (If you are like most and paid for the Guitar and Game this past week). That’s more than a real Guitar purchase or a nice down-payment on the Limeted Edition of Halo 3. Plus, we aren’t finished yet! Keep in mind this is only week one.  So tell your mom that she will have to either up the allownce or you have to pick between guitar lessons or GHII. Either way it still won’t up your chances of scorin’ in the real World!

MS Press Release on the Spring Update

Posted by: Steve519 on April 9th, 2007
Send an Xbox Live message to Steve519

Its really long but I’ll shorten it up for you all. And this is all confirmed as well.

Beginning the week of May 7, users of Windows Live Messenger on Xbox 360 will text chat using the virtual keyboard accessible on Xbox 360, or by connecting a USB keyboard to the console. This summer Microsoft will launch a QWERTY text-input device, a new accessory that will connect directly into the Xbox 360 controller to support text and instant messaging.

Beyond Windows Live Messenger, the Spring Update for Xbox 360 includes hundreds of new features and enhancements including the following:

· A richer Achievement notification pop-up will showcase the name of the unlocked Achievement and the gamerscore value without needing to leave the game to check the Achievements list.

· Enhanced family settings features for Xbox LIVE communications enable different defaults for video chat and voice chat.

· A new Xbox LIVE Marketplace blade lets Xbox LIVE members access the content they seek — whether it is game content or TV shows and movies (available in the United States) — from one place on Xbox LIVE.

· Updates to Xbox LIVE Arcade allow owners to quickly see which Xbox LIVE Arcade games their friends are playing and join in the fun. Xbox LIVE members can also compare progress of leaderboard scores and Achievements directly with all friends on their friends list. Expanded Tell a Friend capabilities make it easier than ever to boast about Achievements and high scores.

· A new option in Auto Downloads provides faster access to the entire collection of free, trial-version Xbox LIVE Arcade games.

· New progressive download controls provide easy access to optimal viewing options by letting people fast-forward, rewind, pause and resume as their video is downloaded from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

· Extension of the background download functionality will allow owners to set their Xbox 360 console to turn off automatically after downloads are complete.

Looks like they are adding many of the things that the video showed this week. But I’m curious what you guys think is still missing or is this good enough.
