Just Another Podcaster — I Don’t Think So

I remember the first time my ears were caressed with the gentle tones of Rusty Ranchero’s voice and the silky smooth vibrations emitting from Steve’s throat. My cherry was popped then. Mr. 519 sent me an invite to his Myspace friends list and from there….well the rest is history. Every since then, I’ve been an avid XBL Radio listener. I bought a ZEN instead of a Zune and I download the show through Zencast. I’ve tried listening to other shows, but truly…they suck. Yes this means you Major Nelson. J/K…NO REALLY! I get my gaming news fix here and learn a little more about the Xbox community all right here, IGN, and the Xbox site. However, there has been a disturbance in the Force lately. My Microsoft Fanboy decoder ring starts turning Black. At first, I thought it was because of the Xbox 360 Elite coming out; however, that proved inaccurate as my ring did not turn black while reading articles about this revamped beast on any other site. I finally narrowed my search down to XBL Radio. It seems everytime Steve spoke ill of Microsoft, my ring responded. It seems as though young 519 has turned to the DARKSIDE! Yes…the evil empire of SONY has assimilated him into a “HOME” body. Fearing that many more so strong with the Force would turn, I decided to finally join the ranks on the forum and fight against the impetuous sheep falling pray to Sony’s Tamagachi crap! Make no mistake about it. Fellow Xboxers…our very own beloved XBL Radio is in danger. I don’t know what you plan to do about it….but I plan to fight back and play some games. The time for WHINE and CHEESING is over! Put away the crackers boys…cuz I’m here to serve a huge helping of TRUTH! Hmmm…now that my rant is over, I’m a 25 year old African American male from Texas who enjoys video gaming and occassionally beating the bejezus out of my friends at Halo parties especially since I suck on Xbox Live. I run my own wrestling efed using the Smackdown vs Raw 2007 game where I do a little podcasting of my own. Yes…it sucks compared to the hyped up dramatics of XBL Radio, but everybody’s got to start somewhere!

Spam blows ass

Steve
So as many of you have noticed, our site was down today. I figured I would tell you why, apperantly someone hacked into our site and used it to send out many spam email, thus causing our server to shut us down. So I took care of all the issues, dealt with the host, though many, many emails (no phone support sucks). And now our site is up, so I hope you enjoy it for now. In a couple of weeks though, we will be planning on shutting down the site for a week while we move everything to a new host. Until then, hostgator will do.

Would you prefer a Cordless Guitar?

Hope is here. A new ROCUMENTORY is coming to a multi-plex near you.    AIR GUITAR NATION This is how one fan on IMDB sums it up: This is an extremely funny film. The air guitar boot camps, the ultra-serious competitors, the OTT performances and the insane air guitar talk will have you in hysterics. But this is not only about laughs, it’s very warm-hearted too. You will like these people. It’s hard to imagine coming out of this movie and not smiling.“ So break free of those wires. And think about this: If there is a movie tie-in game at least the peripheral will be less expensive and a much easier learning curve.
So you went out and picked up Guitar Hero II for the 360. You’ve gotten that 10 point acheivement for failing the “easy” jam. You finally did the tutorials and still can’t get that slide working right. So you’ve come to the conclusion that groupies aren’t in your future.
“This is one of the most fun documentaries you are liable to see.
The film begins with a montage of air guitarists doing their thing. At this early stage you could be forgiven for thinking ‘what the hell is this?’. But as this documentary progresses we get to know the protagonists and we learn that the people behind these air god personas are very likable. And then a bizarre thing happens - you begin to get strangely drawn into their routines. For 81 minutes you will be caught up in the craziness of this art-form. You will cheer on the contestants. You will know a good air guitar performance!

Stand by your Game

Update your favourite Xbox 360â„¢ games with new content available from Xbox Live® Marketplace! Whether its new maps, characters, vehicles, scenarios, or options, the content downloads keep your games as fresh as the day you bought them. There’s no limit to the content downloads that are possible.Perhaps you’ll get updated rosters for your preferred sports title, or new multiplayer maps for a free-for-all frag fest. Many content downloads are free, while others may cost you a few Microsoft® Points. It’s a great way to enjoy a favourite game with something new.“ Notice how MS emphasizes that most Downloadable Content is free. If you compare the playable content I am not convinced. With games coming out and Downloadable Content release within the launch window, of the title, it seems that Downloadable Content is a cash cow for many game producers and MS. It doesn’t bother me that there is monies to be made. I don’t want to see the end of Downloadable Content. I just miss the days when it meant that the Games I bought wanted to keep my interest. Now they want to keep my allowence. Perhaps the games need a new identification on the back of the box: “MS Points needed to enjoy the entire game”
What ever happened to Downloadable Content being included with the game you bought? I know that now we are in the Next Generation of gaming; but is it actually better for us gamers? I remember the days of old. Going into your local gaming store, browsing through the kiosks to read the back of the box on titles you were interested in. On the bottom corners, of the prospect games, you would see Xbox Live Leaderboards, one to two players, and Downloadable Content. All made my decision easier. All made the game more enticing. However this article refers to the latter. Downloadable Content.
The words Downloadable Content now have a new meaning between the Xbox and the 360. Now the meaning implies you need to pick up one of those Marketplace Point cards. In days past it meant that the publisher would make sure the game had longevity. It was one of the many things that made the purchace easier. Just like in p.c. gaming, you knew that your purchace would include the ability to go past the game. Here is how xbox.com describes Downloadable Content today. Either read below or see for yourself.“Content Downloads in Xbox Live Marketplace
