The 4th of July’s biggest bang!

Now don’t get me wrong; I remember the Transformers. I also remember the Go-Bots and Weebulls. However I just didn’t think I would ever type these words: This Movie Was Awsome. In a Summer filled with sequals and unoriginal plots, I wasn’t expecting much from this outing about kids toys on the big-screen. Michael Bay has made me rethink my first-impression prejudice.

The film is right up there with Independence Day. You remember the Will Smith sci-fi spectacular? Both films are equally as entertaining and pretty similar. Both are about the impending doom coming to Earth. Both have the Government hiding a secret. Both took a mediocre star (Will Smith) and changed the way we perceive him (Shia LaBeouf). Without ruining any of the film; it’s pretty much your Doomsday Vehicle for Summer. With one exception: It’s FUN! The Cars, the Bots, and the sets are amazing to look at. Each left me wanting another huge chase or battle to erupt. The scale at which the film takes place is just worth the ticket price.

If you are into the Transformers (kids or adults) I think you will feel that this movie has treated the characters on a grand-scale. However if your looking for true action Die Hard 4 is still showing. However I have to say this: This movie was far more entertaining and Optimus Prime never told Megatron “Yippie Kay Yae Mother…!”

If you see one Transformer film this Summer make sure this is it. However I hear John Travolta gives the Auto-Bots a run for their money.

from Avid X of 360style.net

One week ago , I found myself on a plane flying out to sunny Encino, California. Believe me I was excited to be one of the first to see Call of Duty 4 running on an Xbox 360. Once at the airport I met up with a few other community members who got the special golden ticket to this community event. We hopped on our shuttle and were off to Infinity Ward.

Once we got there and got inside we were greeted by the community manager and we were handed name tags that had our names and gamertags printed on them. First thing on our itinerary was a tour of the studio.

One more red ring

My 360 died a couple days ago, finally. I always thought i was lucky, that my 360 wouldn’t die but it finally has and now that its happened, I’m not too surprised.

It was purchased early January 2006 and while it wasn’t in the launch batch that had an extremely high failure rate it was the 2nd batch of 360’s. I never had to deal with customer support because this is my first console that has died and i can say now that there’s noting worse than calling up only to hear that you must pay $140 to fix a console that broke because of manufacture error. And even though i quoted reports saying failure rates where 30% and explaining the basics of why the 360 breaks i was unable to receive a free repair because “we have repaired to many 360’s for free” but i did get a 25% discount bringing the fee down to only $100.

Now Ive gotten over the anger of having to pay the fee, but i have not gotten over the fact that Microsoft knows they can give the $40 discount. And they refuse to do so without a little hassling which us not fair to a normal person who has a 360. If you’re not active in forums or read news sites and you’re just a guy who owns a 360 to play Madden once in a while you wont know that you can get the discount and i think its unfair that they have to pay the extra $40. Microsoft needs to help their customers not cheat them. Something needs to be done to protect the gamers and that something needs to be done quick.
