Noone thinks you are uneducated Steve. You wouldnt be on the show if you were. However, statements like “CARPAL IS A FANBOY” sound retarded. I am way more mid-line and wait-and see attitude than you and most of the articles you link too. Look back at articles from past magazines in tech and you will also see opinions about how: BLOGGING WILL FAIL. PODCATS ARE JUST A FAD. THE INTERNET IS A PASSING PHASE. So I urge you to think before you make assuptions about tech. Unless you want to end up sounding like the past references.

Carpal, you gotta understand that the people who claim that “BLOGGING WILL FAIL. PODCATS ARE JUST A FAD. THE INTERNET IS A PASSING PHASE” are people that are afraid of FREE Media. The big money making corporations are gonna do any and everything they can do to make sure people don’t like blogs and podcasts. If they cannot make money off of it, then they are gonna spend money on resources to influence a way to shut it down. Like paying a respectable Tech Magazine Editor/Writer to bad mouth it. It’s an unfortunate “Natural” bias. Don’t let their jabber get to you.
As for Steve calling you a fanboy, perhaps it is a bit uninvolved for an intellectual like you and many in the media. It would have been nice if Steve said, “Carpal, you are a fan boy and this is why” with a well thought out couple of in depth paragraphs. But that is not who he is. Maybe in time we’ll all grow and evolve into “professionals”. But for now all we need is love.
Carpal, don’t take everything personal.
Steve, be more supportive of your co-podcasters.
ToG, get more involved behind the sceens.
Rusty, hunt down some interviews.
