What a long podcast. We may have to do .5s from now on. I thought the guests did well, and I loved the feedback at the start. The one thing I thought was overdone (about 30 minutes of the beginning) was the whole Sony PS3 topic. I think this has been talked about on several episodes, and until “new News” is available, the topic is tapped.
Two points on this topic: Sony will sell out due to shortage: Yes, they probably will. However lest we not forget the whole 360 launch. Sony dev kits were not ready fast enough: On a console to console comparison (I read this articler according to 1up last week) Sony is way ahead of MS on DEV kits than MS was last year at this time. Sony is an expensive BLUE RAY player, thats all: Come on now, yes it has a blue ray, yes it is expensive. But for pete sake, pick a side! You want innovations/you dont want innovations. Or is it you only like innovations (The Wii controller) if they pose no compitition to you console of choice?
Other than that good show. However I think we can all agree that unless you bring a subjective ideology to the table, it just sounds like favoritism.

In my opinion your issue with Galaga is mistaken. The original Galaga limited your number of shots to 2. “Modded” Galaga machines allowed multiple shots. I think the Galaga game is spot on accurate in mimicing the original game.

Thanks for the comment EA.
Yes you are right, only 2 shots on screen at a time.
However, their issue might have been misinterpreted. They did not mean to imply that you could have more than 2 shots on screen. They were trying to point out that on the arcade, you can shoot those two shots back to back faster than on the 360.
I don\’t know if it is true as I don\’t remember the arcade that well.

Carpal, I like to hear what people think about the PS3 other than you and Steve. You say you don\’t want to say anything bad about it because it is not out yet, but you don\’t waste anytime to praise it when it 1 up\’s Microsoft. Too bad PS3Radio.com is not available, looks like we are stuck with XBL!

That was cruel and defensive. Im hurt. That is not what I said. I merely said that we all know that Steve and a lot of Xboxers think the PS3 is only a loaded DVD player. However most of the comparisons show that it is in step with the box, minus the cost and online community. I hope the Xbox rules. Look at my time spent on it. Is it even up for discussion? However, I feel that even your guests did not want to bash the system. In the words of Gui J: “Lets not beat this dog anymore!”

actually I side with rusty on this, ya it does get brought up a lot with us but it will with good reason. and if I can save one 16 year old from wasting 600 dollars on it and get them to buy a xbox 360 or even a wii instead then it all went to good use. I know I come off as a ps3 basher but there is reason for it and if you don’t belive me believe the developers, look howw many jumped ship BEFORE the system is even out that should start to show you something. And now look at development for the 360 and the wii, people can get on fast enough it seems that everyone lately wants to start making games for these to systems.
