I was planning on camping out all day tomorrow. Last year, I camped out at Walmart for 12 hours and was able to get a 360. The store is a very high volume store, and they recieved about 50 360s (core and premium combined).
I just called the same WalMart, and they said that they recieved 2 PS3s and there were already 2 people in line. The idea of camping out at BestBuy or Target does not sound very appealing to me in this weather.
Anybody have any ideas or information about what is happening in your area?

Picking mine up Friday. I suspect the best place for campers will be Costco--just like it was for 360.

Update. Spent 17 hours in line at Walmart, was number 13 in line. They got a total of 10 units. And I had to go home empty handed. Several stores in the area (Biggs, Sears, KMart, and Sams Club) did not get any units.
I was so close to a 3K Buy it Now, and a week of happy bidding. I am not mad, but it is crazy how few systems are out there. Now, I am just hoping to spend my day reading negative press about PS3 catching on fire and people getting shot waiting in line. (Sorry if that makes me sound bad....)

you are so right, I tried to get one this morning, actually yesterday but things were not meant to be. Costco.com went down and all the stores were getting around 1/3 of the 360 that they received.
I don't know what was going on with Sony but 400k my ass. I think that they only shipping about half that. Stores that were received 20 xbox 360s were only getting around 5 ps3's

big, the PS3 is a lame exuse to push blu ray. You shouldnt waste 3k on that thing let alone even 600

Sorry, kids--but this thing is sexy.
Downloading all the game demos from the store right now. I'll report back once I've played a few. But I'm really impressed with the look and feel of the hardware, the ease of use of the interface, and the rational, functional design of the online store. Good stuff.
