Ref, which game are you watching?!

Friday, August 25th, 2006

I did not think the time would come where you would be complaining about the referee’s in a game, but if you own a copy of NCAA Football 07 for the PSP, you could be yelling at the TV set all-day. According to EA there a bug that cause’s some copies of the game to spot the ball in the wrong spot. The ball will be placed at the spot where first contact was made not where you were tackled. For exp. you could break a tackle at the line for a 50 yard run and the ball would be brought back to the line. EA will replace copies of the game that exhibit the glitch with brand new bug-free discs. To get a fresh copy of NCAA Football 07, gamers should send their effected discs, along with their name, mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number, to EA. The replacement disc will be sent out within 10 business days. To apologize for the inconvenience, EA will also send out coupons good for $15 off gamers’ next purchase at EA’s online store, as well as free shipping on the order.

Madden NFL 07

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

Well its time to load up your grills and coolers and head on out to the fields to tail gate and watch the pig skin fly through the air. That right football is among us all! Madden 07 will be the second Madden NFL game to come out for the 360. Madden 06 was a launch title for the 360 and in my mind was a big bust. So will 07 pick up where they left off, and score a touchdown in your heart or will fall short, like its predecessor. The game will cost you as much as a ticket to a game seating you back $60. Here are the features for the 360 as well as the PS 2. So go ahead and compare them and let us know which ver. sounds better to you.

Key Features for the Xbox 360

Lead Block Through the Lanes - For the first time ever, control the lead blocker on running plays. Throw the perfect block to create a running lane, then take control of the tailback and rip off the big gain.

The Season Begins in Mini-Camp - Create a player then build up his attributes by running him through skill-based, combine-type mini-games. In the off-season, use Mini-Camp games and drills to condition players or to rehab injured players to get them back on the field faster.

Madden Gamer Level - Track your career accomplishments in Franchise Mode to earn Madden Gamer Points, and then wager your rewards against the computer or live online opponents to reach the ultimate reward - the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

All-New Running Moves - Use the all-new Highlight Stick to evade defenders with new jukes, cutbacks, and power moves. Smaller backs escape and break tackles, while bigger runners bowl over defenders in the open field.

Run Like the Players Run - All-new running styles match those of your favorite NFL running backs.

Replay Challenge - Throw the red flag and challenge any play. Overturned calls or plays “that stand” play a huge effect on the outcome of every game.

Key Features for the PS 2

Lead Block Through the Lanes - For the first time ever, control the lead blocker on running plays. Throw the perfect block to create a running lane, then take control of the tailback and rip off the big gain.

NFL Superstar: Hall of Fame Mode - Play your way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame by taking complete control of any position on the field. Your actions on and off the field determine your impact on the game.

Run Like the Players Run - Use the all-new Highlight Stick to evade defenders with new jukes, cutbacks, and power moves. Smaller backs escape and break tackles, while bigger runners bowl over defenders in the open field.

New Franchise Mode Additions - Scout collegiate prospects with the all-new NFL Draft Scouting System and during the College All-Star Game, or watch players impact their teams with the new Franchise Player Roles feature.

Team-Specific Defensive Playbooks - For the first time, use actual plays from your favorite team’s defensive playbook to shut down the running game, pressure the quarterback, or force key turnovers.

Uno Tournament Bracket

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Alright the bracket is made, here are the rules, I don’t care who starts up the game as long as it gets started, but you must have standard uno, standard deck, NO CUSTOM RULES and ALL private seats. Now one thing that I am sorry for is that I couldn’t set the groups the way I wanted to, with day players and night players, but since you don’t have to pay to play oh well I guess, I did do what I could. So with that in mind NOT everyone is going to show, thats to be expected, and again sorry, I was limited to programing restrictions. Now once the game is started, you will continue to play till someone has 3, yes 3 wins. If it is the computer, keep going till a human player has 3 wins. Now it is up to the winner to email who one, if I get no emails about that match, I will consider it a no show on everyones part. Now this is all an honesty tournament here. I can’t sit in on every match and watch so its up to you guys to police each other. Now the first round will start this Wednesday at 7pst UNLESS all parties in that match agree on a different time, but I MUST have all results by Friday morning and then we will continue the next round probably Monday. If you have any more questions feel free to email me at Steve@xblradio.com

And here is the bracket

PLANE FICTION-Samuel is Back!

Monday, August 21st, 2006

So the summer movie season is coming to a close, most movies came and went, but Hollywood saved the best for last. I know what your thinking; how could this “B” titled film be held in such a high regard? Let me explain it with one word: FUN!

Hollywood spends so much time trying to create the biggest bang for their buck that they seem to forget why we go to the Summer Movies in the first place; to be entertained, not to sit through 2 hours of somebody having a blast with an unlimited budget.

Jackson, who put his “BAD MOTHER FU#&ER” Wallet back in his pocket, is in top form here. He is the perfect antidote for this snake-bite freight-fest. From the moment we leave the tarmac, which takes about ten minutes, till the moment we arrive at our destination, there are thrills to be had. Some moments are over-the-top, and others are added to keep you on your toes. However there is never a sense of over-kill. In the tradition of great Summer Drive-In movies, like The Blob, Tremors, and many 50’s and 60’s features, Snakes on a Plane gets you to your destination on-time.

So check your bags and have a safe flight!
