Southpark WoW Parody!

South Park creators Trey and Matt’s WOW parody is available for download.

I’m a huge fan of the show. This episode proves SP is still funny long after Kenny’s demise. If you’ve never played WOW; not to fear: Every gamer will find this episode amusing. It may take awhile to download, so just press pause, leave your page open, and come back in 20 minutes. Now if only Trey and Matt played HALO!

Run TRACKS while you play TRACKS…

That’s right Nike and Apple have teamed up to get you in motion. So go-ahead and pick your mix and motivate your run. Nike+ lets you listen to tunes while you track your progress on an Ipod nano. Simply slip the Nike+ sensor into the Air Zoom Moire shoe pocket, or any other Nike+ Ready shoe, and head out. The Ipod nano tracks your progress, providing feedback on distance, time, pace and calories burned directly through the headphones. After your run, a performance summary appears on the nano screen and can be heard through the headphones. You also will be able to sync the info up to your pc. Now that’s cool. I have a Timex system that pretty much does the same thing but it also keeps your heart rate, and I paid $300 for the system. With this system you will be able to hit the road for around $130 ($100 for the shoes and $30 for the sport kit that goes into the Ipod). So head over to itunes and download the podrunner podcast (one of my favorite exercise podcast) tie your shoes and hit the road running!

The line between reality & Gaming is narrowing…

With the advent of the new camera for the 360, released this week, gaming may get a whole lot more personal. Until recently; most of us gamers were anonymous. Hiding behind our avatars and screen names. Now, instead of my friends list being filled with team mascots, game characters, and other lost MS point purchases, I see real faces. Even games are beginning to incorporate players real life personas into the game. So I ask: Is this good, or are we forgetting why we were so anxious to game online in the first place? ANONYMITY for some, and others used their aliases to do the things that only a shot of Tequila would have allowed them to do in the past.

What do you think? Let us know on our forums.

XBOX and Kelloggs have teamed up. Certain cereals include an Xbox mini-game. The following games are running in the promotion -

  • Spaceship Blaster - Eliminate the enemy spaceships before they reach you.
  • Motorcycle Madness - Avoid or eliminate oncoming traffic to move up a level and win.
  • Disco Mania - Copy the dance instructor’s moves to move through the levels.
  • Robo Blast - Capture the robots before they escape.
  • Mystic Castle - Navigate through the castle, collecting gems and defeating enemies.

I wish a mini-HALO was in the line-up. However at least you wont have to send off 30 proof-of-purchaces.

Xbox Live started in the 90’s?

I was going through some junk the other day and what did I find? Well, it was the Sega Channel cartridge! With this device you were able to get up to 50 saga games a month as well as demos of games to be released. It was the first downloadable console system out on the market. If I am not mistaken it cost around $20 a month. Wow! 50 games a month for only $20.

The only downfall was that the titles would change every month. So right when you were in the middle of a game, it was gone. Also, I can’t remember but I don’t think you could use in game saves, you would have to leave the system on.

It looks like Microsoft has picked up where Sega left off and improved a system which was the best thing out since slice bread. I just whish Xbox Live offered a monthly game library that you could play through. I would certainly pay an extra fee. Also they could still have it to where if you wanted to buy the game, you could. That way you can play the game of you choice every month.
