how many times have we all heard that MS isn't coming out with a larger hard drive? They said the one we have is plenty big. But for some reasom I know know why, maybe to combat the ps3 hard drive look what I found

from engadget:

If you've been hankerin' for a bit more room to stash pr0n Xbox Live downloads and other various medias on your 360, and you're not so keen on squeezing in a backup solution or dealing with a frumpy external drive, it looks like you're in luck. Microsoft just announced a 100GB hard drive for the Xbox 360 at their little X06 shindig in Korea, and the drive should be making its way to shelves -- at least in Korea -- by March of '07. There's no info on price yet, or really much info at all, but when has a PowerPoint slide full of Korean characters and lame-fonted "100 GB" overlays ever steered you wrong?

Now if there isn't a way to transfer my game save over, ohhh snap, I will be pissed off

Pretty cool that they are hinting about it. The price I cannot imagine how much it will cost. $100 = 20 Gig Harddrive. So 20 gigs x 5 = $500.

Let's say 30% off that and we are looking at $349.99 for an Xbox 360 100 Gig HDD.

Ohh yeah, I'll be first in line for that.

Hopefully, it will obsolete the 20Gig version. I would like to pick it up at somewhere around $150.

Maybe there will be a usb kind of crossover cable...? Maybe you can pop in your 20gb hard drive to your 360 and then plug in the usb cable to your 360 and the other end of the cable to your 100gb hard drive and transfer files like that... That is just my guess though. That is really the only way I can think of.

I have a good question for everybody do you really need one of these? Live games are no bigger then 50mb meaning with the 13gb free you can store approx 260 games. There aren't even that many out there. As for demos and videos how many do you think you will store at a time? I think the possibility for the 100gb is more of a down the line necessity. Hopefully when we get to that point then the price will drop down. I might be willing to spend $199 for one. Until then I have 4gb free since I've deleted demos of games I picked up.

I think I will need one. Right now on my 20gb hard drive I have like 10 or 11 game demos, about 10 arcade games, like 10 videos and I have that GRAW map pack which takes up like 700mb or something. Anyway I only have like 1gb left and trust me, if I had more space I would have alot more stuff still on there.

Plus with all the success of the microtransactions you know there is gonna be a BOOM of DL content very soon and we are gonna need the extra room.

As for data transfer, Microsoft is gonna say "Deal with it. How hard is it to swap HDDs, really? -- Not to mention that you can redownload it all again for FREE since you already paid for it!"

You watch...

To "deal with it" is something I can't do. So "dealing with it" is re-doing all your missions in Splinter Cell? And what about your profile? And all your achievements? What is going to happen with those? I think they will have to make a way to transfer stuff. Even if you have to go to best buy or somewhere and give them your hard drives and $5 and they do it for you.
