wow I was reading it today and wow, they are lighting into him so with some good points and others without, and this is all about the down time but check this one out, I thought it hit the spot:

The day when we once received the WHOLE game for one price point i$ obviou$ly over, thank$ Micro$oft...we love paying for hor$e armor and who know$ how many different lumine$ live addon$. ($ARCA$AM)

Hey guys,

I've just been listening to the recent Live on Live show because to be honest, I've heard OF you but never actually listened to one of your shows until today. (let the flames begin...lol)

I figure it wouldn't hurt if you wanted to have me on sometime...I love to argue and debate, so maybe a podcast would be a worthwhile venue for my opinions.

I'll let you know where I stand on a few topics, just so you can decide if I match up with what you're looking for.

1) I believe EA games are great, but EA as a company is ruining the game industry. I love playing their games, and the upcoming ones look amazing, but lately they've made a lot of frightening decisions in terms of marketplace content. Eg: The godfather... you hit a weapons dealer, only to find the weapon he sells, is an additional download (with a price) that isn't even on the marketplace yet. What happened to getting the full game when you purchased it?

2) I think the millitant fanbase idea has really gotten out of hand. While I'm sure the corporations are loving the revenue it's bringing in, it's a negative turn for the industry. What ever happened to making your own decisions and buying the products you wanted? Used to be if you had a SNES and your friend had a GENESIS, you didnt argue over which was better, you used it as an excuse not to buy the other one and just spend hours with your buddies. Now it's 360 vs PS3. Nintendo's doing it right and just throwing their product out there, and not starting a press war with anyone.

3) RE: The "lack of communication" from Microsoft. I work in a large corp, I understand that they don't want to release dates, etc because they may change at any time. I also feel however that some communication is needed from a company such as WHY things are delayed. However the recent trend on MN's blog of gamers DEMANDING they are given info, is WAY out of line. Where did this false idea of entitlement come from? You're ISP drops, you get told they're working on it. You dont get a detailed explination on how a router over-heated and caught fire and then.... get over it kids.

Anyone listen to the latest Major Nelson podcast?

He had the marketing guy from EA in an interview and his spin on EA's marketing strategy.

May have been a more interesting interview with Steve519 interviewing him

To those that have heard the interview, what do you think of the EA guys responses to their strategy?

Chip Lange said exactly what you'd expect him to say. What was disappointing was that Major Nelson didn't press him at all. I understand he's an MS shill and it's his job to kiss ass, but then don't even bother bullshitting us with having the guy on the show.
