Dude,

For one thing...your quoting something back from October. You didn't clarify who you were addressing so since I started the most recent post in this thread I assumed it was me since I asked for feedback on the most recent podcast by Major, not the comments made in October.

No one is dissin' the Marketplace but rather some items on it...mostly EA.
Forums are created for all to give thoughts and opinions so you have to accept that aspect of it, even if you don't agree. If you can't state your opinion about something beyond "STFU" then use restraint and move on to another thread, but if you can construct an argument or beneficial conversation to the matter then let's converse.

Gamers have a right to voice their disappoval with Microsoft or EA if they see their intentions as a bit unethical. If gamers just "STFU" all the time then we would have a lot more "horse armor" crap fed to us than we do now.

This is why this thread should be destroyed. I swear the next time someone brings up horse armor i will kill them. Hear that Jacky boy?
horse armor wasent that bad and unlike some companies, Bethesda learned that that was a hgih price but at least it serves some purpose in Oblivion where as the Madden remedial videos have none.

Again, I'll say that if I got Madden 07 today, I may purchase those, because I haven't played madden in a while. Yeah EA makes some crap, but hey, maybe someone thinks that crap is cool...more power to them. It sucks that maybe companies exploit this stuff sometimes, but they don't require you to purchase everything on Marketplace when you sign up for XBL. If I go to the market next door, I only buy what I want... I don't need every spice in the spice row...just some cajun pepper, the same goes for Marketplace. But if some guy comes in and wants to fill his spice rack with everything they have, I'm not going to knock on him, it's his freakin spice rack!

I understand what your saying with the analogy but here is where I have a problem with it. Say I want some Cajun Pepper too...I go to this marketplace to purchase it, "$5 for Cajun pepper?!?!" Guess I'll shop around, oh wait I can't. I do agree that if you don't want something or don't agree with the price don't buy it, but we as consumers have a right to express our disatisfaction with the market if it is gorging prices that the community as a whole disagrees with. The gaming companies are testing the marketplace to figure out what consumers will purchase and how much they are willing to pay and for the most part are willing to accept feedback in forums or message boards, (example...Bethasda changing the horse armor issue). Whether we like it or not, the marketplace is a monopoly when it comes to the game add ons and I still love what the marketplace offers, but if the sellers are going to do things that requires our attention then let's be heard instead of just drinking the kool aid.

The issues with EA just frustrate me, I've always enjoyed EA games and it just irks me that not only do their games cost me $20 more with not much graphical enhancements but now I have "the option" to purchase extras that I used to be able to get in my $40 games. It's like McDonalds selling me a BigMac without the special sauce, pickles, and cheese and saying that I now have the option to purchase whichever one that "I want" to enhance my BigMac experience. Huh? And then the marketing guy coming to me and saying "even though your BigMac does not have special sauce, pickles, or cheese...it is still a complete eating experience". Don't tell me you are giving me options when you take them away from my previous experiences and turn around and try to sell them to me.

EA = $60 game, less content than a $40 game, to get the content back $61-$99 game.

If we just sit around and "STFU" about it then it will just become the standard for other companies to try give us less and charge us for more.

Yes, don't buy the crap if you don't like what they are doing. But don't just bend over and take it with a gag in your mouth.

For the record, I bought the horse armor (along with every other piece of Oblivion content)--and I thought it looked pretty neat.

A mock interview? I hope so--that would be a riot. Just don't use the devil voice changing thing that MrCT and TOG used. You couldn't understand a word that was said.

I bought the horse armor also and didn't regret it. I bought Lumines Live and the Advance Pack and did not regret it. But, think that the way Lumines Live was handled on the Marketplace was a disaster waiting to happen. There was not enough information given to the consumer about what they were buying for them to make a valid decision to buy the game unless they looked all over the internet for information about it.

Sure there was a demo but the demo didn't seem clear enough on what you were getting and if someone just looked at all of the modes the game had on the main menu and bought the game they would have never know that most of the modes didn't have the full set of levels.

Q! entertainment dropped the ball on this one. This should have been a full release game on a disc with tons of skins and features for $40. If they really wanted to give the consumer choice over what they wanted they would have clearly spelled out what the game had to begin with.

Like I said I am happy with my purchase, but that is because I knew what I was buying. I know that there are many people out there that did not and are now less likely to just buy an Arcade game in a whim because they don't want to get a part of a game without knowing it first.
