Well looks like Movies will be $4/6 for downloads dependent on the quality (SD/HD). And will range in the 1-2/5-6GB range for file sizes.
Also looks like the TV Shows will be around $3 each and will be around 500MB for SD and around 2GB for HD episodes.
The TV shows you will keep forever, and be allowed the redownload at any time you wish, where the movies you will be able to keep for up to 2 weeks, or 24 hours after you start watching, whichever happens first. |

This is definately cool by me. We will see how it grows and if the demand is there, but I like to see it.
Now just give me a bigger HD.

I really didn't like the idea...until I heard you could rent movies and shows! And I don't have an HD-TV anyways, so it is kinda useless for me.

I always have to play Devil's Advocate:
Here are my problems with movie downloads:
1. I can rent a DVD from blockbuster and keep it for several weeks if I want to without late fees.
I can only only keep the film (once started for 24 hours) let's hope I don't have to stop the film (for any reason) once I start it. It has happened before.
2. My DVD includes Xtra features: Director's commentary, Bloopers, Outtakes, and more. Will this be available for the LIVE download?
3. I can take my DVD to any room in my house (I have several DVD players (even in my cars) I only have 1 360, and it's wired into my system with 1080i and fiber audio, that it's not easily mobile.
ON TV SHOWS: 1 comment only (I can get it all free over the air, and I don't need to wach the Office in Hi-Def. I could wach it in black and white on a 12" t.v. and still laugh. I think I would expect more for MS Points.
Thats about it, but it's a valid arguement against paying for convienience.

You can watch TV shows for free in HD if they offer it. HD antennas start around $10- and go up to around $50.
Also are the movies going to come out at the same time that they do at Blockbuster or are they going to come out the same time as PPV? I agree with carpal 24hr time stamp is a bad idea they need to match Blockbuster and give it to you for a least 5 days. If not I will still use Blockbuster.
PS will you get an achievement for watching a movie?

I think you only get an Acheivement for watching King Kong (Jackson is trying as hard as he can to get you to but that HD DVD)
