Oh No!!! Steve’s Xbox 360 is done for :(

UPDATE (9-5-2006):
Alright, I went to Costco today after work, and now I have a brand new Xbox 360, no questions asked and almost a full year after I bought it. Wow how cool is that, I recommend everyone shop at costco, I know I am from now on, for all my big purchases.
ORIGINAL POST (9-4-2006):
Steve519’s Xbox 360 has bit the dust, I called Microsoft today, $138 dollars to send it off to repair down in Texas. Oh that hurts, After all I’ve done for my system it had to do this to me. So, I won’t be online for a little while, it sucks. But I do have to say that the support line, was very quick and the lady that helped me was very nice. I now have to call Costco tomorrow to see if they cover it. If not, I’m out $138. I do have the audio of the help line. I don’t know if I should put it up or not, nothing bad from it only good stuff, it shows that they are at least nice. But no matter how nice they are, I still have a broken Xbox 360, its a bad bad day. I will keep you all posted about how this turns out and what becomes of my system.
For some more very disturbing pics he ya go

The 3 red lights of death! Noooooooooo…
Perhaps it got damaged during the move. Although it worked fine during the show, good thing it was working then!
I guess you DS is gonna get some extra action these next few weeks! You better be around for the Gamer chiX show!!

It was having some issues before the move. but it really started right after the show, I was trying to play some chromehounds with mark and right then everything went to shit, and that was like 2 days ago, I got the red lights once but I unplugged everything and pluged it back in again it I was getting past the red lights but it was locking up within 5 min. at first then it would just freeze once i would turn it on. Today I just went into Texas Hold’em and it gave out for good, before I could even start playing

ouch. I had mine do that after only having it for 3 months. I’ve got it back in May and things have been running great on it since. Just don’t send your hard drive and other accessories back with it, you may never see them again.

Hey Steve,
Perhaps you could wait it out for a couple of months and get a PS3. I hear Sony has a great manufacturer warrenty. Seriousley, Im sorry to hear that. I can’t believe how many stories I have heard about broken 360s in the past year. It makes me worried that my time will come. I hope not.

“$138 dollars to send it off to repair down in Texas”!!!! (and that is in the same country??)
That’s really very terrible!!!
Down here in the Netherlands the microsoft support rocks pretty good!! migyt I say awesome.
I phoned in the 3 red lights problem of my launch xbox360.
The next day at my dooorstep there was a UPS man to collect the unit.
it got shipped all the way to Germany (another country) where the repair center is at.
within 2 days , at my doorstep ..again a UPS delivery person with a NEW xbox360 console.
I got a tracker number from the first day.. so I could track wat was happening with the unit from day one. The unit had to go twice through customs.. and a dutch settled MS company. all that in 2 days!!
NO CHARGES!!!!….AND FAST!!!
I don’t think sony could beat that..

but mine was out of warrenty

Well Guys, I got u beat.
I too have experienced the 3 red lights of doom, twice. I am currently waiting for me second 360. So far thats 138$ + the 25$ for the 1 year warrenty which i purchased after my 360 craped out the first time. Add that to accecories and games and im looking at a 1000$ next gen gaming system that is about as usefull as tits on a bull. Am i bitter? a little. I mean can i get a free controller or even some microsort points for my goddam aggitation? According to the Microsoft rep……sadly no. O well, such is life and heartless multi-national corporations.
PS: did i mention my replacement 360 went AWOL after a mere MONTH! Someone might as well just kick me in the junk so i can wake up from this bull shit dream.

O im in Canada by the by. The reps were polite as hell, which pissed me off even more because i wanted someone to yell at!
