20 year anniversary logo

Hey what is up everybody at PN and XBLRadio, Mr B4 here giving you the latest news as to what is going on in the gaming community. Today I have an announcement for you about the upcoming release of a game that everyone who is a gamer, whether they like sports or not, should know what it is. What am I talking about, I am talking about Madden NFL 09.  I will be picking up both the 360 and Wii versions of this game tonight when I go to the midnight sale at my local Gamestop.

You might be asking yourself, well, it is just another Madden game with  updated rosters and barely any new features at all. Why should I pick it up again? First of all the release of this game marks the 20 year anniversary of the franchise and you should also buy it because of some of the other great features that this game has to provide.

Here are some of the features that this latest installment is going to have, for both the Wii and 360/PS3:

What is up everybody at PN and XBL Radio, it is Mr B4 here bringing you the latest as to what is going on in the Nintendo gaming community. I just came across some news recently that I thought you Nintendo gamers might be interested in. What news you might ask?, read on to find out.

The latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine has revealed that Castlevania Judgement and Mega Man 9 have been confirmed for both the Wii console and WiiWare download service. Lets take a minute or two to look at the details that have been revealed so far for these games. I am going to tell you honestly that it is not much, but at the very least it is something. Here is some info about these games:

Castlevania Judgement

CastleVania Judgement

Castlevania Judgement is going to be a 3D style fighter featuring famous characters from the Castlevania series. So far, I have found out that Alucard, Simon Belmount, Maria Renard, and Dracula have been confirmed as playable characters for the game. It was also confirmed that there will be interactive environments (IE Mortal Kombat Armageddon) for you to fight in, as well as bosses from the series that will drop in from time to time during battles to add some variety and extra difficulty to the game, and also the ability to use subweapons and hearts. No release date or price have been given as of yet, but expect an announcement on that sometime soon.

Mega Man 9

Mega Man 9 (Wiiware)

Capcom has also made an announcement that they will be bringing Mega Man 9 to the Wii’s WiiWare game downloading service. Here are the details that I have on the game so far. It is being developed by Inti Creates, which is the team who worked on the first three Mega Man X titles.  It will stick to the 8-bit graphics of the original Mega Man series that came out on the NES.  It was also said that the game controls like Mega Men 3-6 by the Mega Man Network(not sure if that is good or bad, but still confimed nonetheless). Other than that, the only other details that I could find about this game were the names of the bosses that you will be fighting.

Here are the names of the bosses:

* Magma Man

* Galaxy Man

* Jewel Man

* Concrete Man

* Hornet Man

* Plug Man

* Tornado Man

* Splash Woman

No release date or price has been given as of yet for this Wiiware game, but expect it to fall somewhere between 800 ($5.00) and 1000($10.00) Wii points.

Here are some of my quick thoughts about these games. It is nice to see Mega Man 9 stick to its original roots that made the game great back in the NES days, with the same graphics, gameplay, and types of boss fights that we have all grown to know and love over the years. Castlevania Judgement on the other hand, is a little bit of a risky idea, especially since previous fighting titles that have come out for the Wii have seen lackluster reviews by most gaming sites (IE Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Soulcalibur Legends). I would have like to have seen a Castlevania game that sticks to the formula that made its other titles successful in the past, but I am guessing that only time will tell on this one.

The choice as to whether or not you should buy, rent, or ignore these games, I will leave up to you.

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off.

Take Care,

Mr B4

Welcome to Mad World!

Posted by Mr B4

Hey what is up everybody over at Platform Nation and XBL Radio, Happy Memorial Day! It is Mr B4 here to give you the latest news as to what is going on in the Nintendo World.

What I have for you this week is a trailer for a new game that is coming out for the Wii. The game is called Mad World, it is published by Sega, and is being developed by Platinum Games. There are a couple of reasons why I wanted to show you this trailer, the first being because it is a game that Desz and myself have mentioned on the last two episodes of TQ Cast, and I wanted to show you what we were talking about. The other reason is because there is always a complaint about how no good gruesome or good third-party titles seem to ever come out for the Wii, and this could be a game that might possibly do well in both categories.

Either Way, decide for yourself after you are done watching this trailer.

Take care gamers, and see you next time.

Take Care,

Mr B4

Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor

Hey what is up everybody, it is Mr B4 here bringing you the latest news about what is going on in the gaming community. I have not done it as often lately, and i do apologize for that.  What i am going to be bringing to you today is a written review of a recent product i tried out for the Wii, which is called the Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for your Wii Nunchuk.

Even though it looks like the longest title ever for an article for XBL Radio, let us get right into the review anyways, shall Wii?

Here is the Review:

The product that i will be reviewing today is the Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for your Nunchuk controller. As you can tell from what i wrote above, this is a product or accessory that was made for the Nintendo Wii. What this product does is it converts the wired Nunchuk that you already have into a wireless Nunchuk controller. The MSRP on it is $19.99 and it can be found at Gamestop.com, Nyko.com, or at any other major video game retail store. It includes a holster for the main part of the Nunchuk, a sleeve to hide the wires of your Nunchuk in, a wireless adapter to connect the Wii remote to the Nunchuk, and two AA batteries for the holster.

Now going through the entire setup of this product in a written review might seem a little strange, but i will just say that you attach the Nunchuk into a holster that has a sleeve on it, tie the wires around the sleeve, then attach the remainder of it into an expansion slot on the holster, plug a wireless sensor into you Wii remote, press the power buttons on both of them, and Presto!, you have just made yourself a wireless Nunchuk.

Now that i went over the setup and description of it, let us get into the good and bad, or the pluses and minuses of this product, to see if it is really worth the price tag:

Pluses

+ Works well with any game that requires use of the Nunchuk

Here are a few games that i tried out, and they worked out great with this product:

*  Madden NFL 08

*  Deca Sports

*  Wii sports

*  Mario Galaxy

*  Super Smash Bros. Brawl

+ Holder and Sleeve both feel comfortable to hold in your hand, makes it feel like you are actually using a regular Nunchuk.

+ Worth the $19.99 price tag, especially if you are the do-it-yourself kind of person.

Minuses

- Difficult to setup, takes a couple of tries just to hide the wires into the sleeve.

- Sometimes will show Wii remote as having a low battery life no matter how much you have charged your Wii remote prior to using this product.

So there you go, that was my written review of the Nyko Cord Free Wireless Adaptor for Wii Nunchuk Controller.I would give this product a buy if you are the do-it-yourself kind of person, if not, then check out the Wireless Nunchuk Controller that they have, it might work out better for you.  Special thanks go out to Steve for hooking me up with a free review copy of this product, much appreciated.

Until next time gamers, this is Mr B4 signing off.

Take Care,

B4

Hey what is going on everybody at Platform Nation and XBL Radio, it is MrB4 here to give the latest about what is going on in the gaming community.

As you might have heard on the .5 shows, Mr INFECTEDPB503 (My co-host) does not give me much opportunity to be able to talk about my Wii (insert joke here), or the games that i play on it. So i thought it was time to find a place where i could talk about the games that i play, and i did.

I was just recently a guest on a community roundtable podcast for the site Breaking The Game. In each of their podcasts, BTG Radio breaks down one game, piece by piece, by letting members of the gaming community talk about each and every aspect of the game (Gameplay, Community, Technical, Etc.). The game that they featured this week was Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and i just could not pass up the opportunity to be on that show.

Here is the post from the site along with the podcast for you to listen to, enjoy:

BTG Brawl Roundtable

While the Cats away how the mice will play! While Andy’s on vacation Kiki & Daniel decide to throw a community party (Ok, its really a roundtable) and talk about Nintendo’s ultra hyped, much delayed Super Smah Bros Brawl! Did it fulfill all the needs and desires of a true Nintendo fanboy? Listen & see!

Phil Harrison

Hey what is up fellow members of Platform Nation and XBL Radio, this is Mr B4 here to give you the latest news from the gaming community. Yes, once again folks, I have yet another story coming from the world of Sony.

If any of you have been following the updates from members of Platform Nation on Twitter, you might have noticed something that Chiahippo(Host of PSH Radio) posted about  Phil Harrison resigning from Sony today. From what I have found out, Harrison was the head of the company’s worldwide studios and has been instrumental in Playstation’s development for over 15 years. He also led SCE’s first party game development operations and aggressively pursued the development of new online entertainment experiences.

Kazuo Hirai, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, had this to say about Harrison’s Departure:

“As one of the founding members of SCE, Phil played a key role in the development and growth of the PlayStation business and our industry,” said Hirai. “It is sad to see him departing from SCE, but I wish to express my gratitude for his many invaluable contributions and also wish Phil the very best of luck in his future endeavors.”

And here is what Mr. Harrison himself had to say about his recent decision:

“The past 15 years at Sony Computer Entertainment has been the defining journey of my life so far,” said Harrison. “I am grateful to all the PlayStation family for their incredible support, guidance and friendship. It has been a privilege to serve as part of the team and be inspired by them on a daily basis. I am so proud of everything PlayStation has achieved and will continue to support its future in every way I can.”

Atari Logo

Now, for those of you who do not know, there has been a rumor circling around that Harrison will now be joining Atari. Well, according to GamesIndustry.biz, this was the reason that Harrison left Sony. Apparently he was frustrated with Sony Japan’s lack of  foresight on the casual games front, and will now be joining David Gardner and spearhead Atari’s push into the casual space.

Now to be honest with you, I am confused about this announcement for certain reasons. The main reason I am confused about this was that I remember there being a news story about Atari’s CEO leaving te company because they are going bankrupt. If this is true, however,  do you think that Harrison will be able to help Gardner keep Atari in buisness, or is this company doomed to fail no matter what help they get?

Either way, you make the call gamers.

Until next time, this is B4 signing off,

Take Care,

B4

Target Sale Ad

Ok, now i know that i am not much of a poet but I do have a new article for you anyway. What is up everybody, it is Mr B4 here to give you the latest as to what is going on in the world of gaming. Sorry about no news story last week, I had some family problems to deal with and I was not able to bring all of you gamers an article like I always do. I am back now, and am ready to get into the swing of things, so let us get right to it.

Now for those of you who are looking to buy a PS3 and get a little something extra with your purchase, listen up. I have just found out yesterday, in their latest sale-ad, that Target is doing a promotion from February 17th to February 23rd for the PS3. What they will be doing is giving away a $40 Gift Card for free when you buy a PS3(40 GB $399 model). You can also receive a free $10 Gift card for free when you purchase one of the games from the following list.

Here are the games you can buy:

• Heavenly Sword (PS3)
• Unreal Tournament III (PS3)
• WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 (XBOX 360, PS3)
• Assassin’s Creed (XBOX 360, PS3)
• Devil May Cry 4 (XBOX 360, PS3)
• Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (XBOX 360, PS3)
• Lost Odyssey (Xbox 360)
• Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
• Mx Vs ATV Untamed (XBOX 360, PS3)
• Turok (XBOX 360, PS3)
• Halo 3 (Xbox 360)

I personally think that is a good deal for people who have not purchased a PS3 yet, because it gives them a little something extra for their purchase. The only real problems are that most of these games that are offered are either games that we have already purchased (Halo 3, COD4), or ones that we simply just do not want to purchase , but rent instead(MX vs. ATV Untamed). The other thing is that most games for the PS3 that are quality titles(Uncharted, COD 4, Ratchet and Clank) do not cost $40, but I guess you could use the Gift Card to get a couple of cheap Blu-ray DVDs for free or something, that might work.

Either Way, you make the call, just thought I would let all of you know about it first.

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off

Take care,

B4
