Xbox 360 Well then, get ready to shell over FORTY BUCKS to Wal Mart. Seems that Harmonix has teamed up with everyone’s favorite neighborhood superstore to bring us 18 songs from the Australian rock legends in a standalone disc format. The game booklet will include an export code that will allow you to download the tracks to your console for use in Rock Band / Rock Band 2.

For any of you who have been trying to grind your way through Rock Band 2’s World Tour or Challenge modes to unlock every song: have no fear. Patrick Klepek has revealed on the MTV Multiplayer blog that a “game modifier” code can be used to unlock all 84 of those sweet, sweet tunes that you don’t want to wait for. The code has to be input in the Game Modifiers screen:
Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue.

That’s it. It’s not the easiest thing to figure out, but to be fair it is the same code from the original Rock Band. So, if you’re like me and just want to play Everlong over and over, you can now do so.
What are you waiting for? Go play!

Harmonix and MTV Games have created a very special set of downloadable content to celebrate the three day event called Penny Arcade Expo. The “PAX 2008 Collection”, which should be up today, contains tracks from Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot, and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - all of whom performed at the event last weekend. And to add to the excitement, all proceeds from the sales of this “PAX Pack” between launch and Holiday 2008 will be donated to the Child’s Play Charity that is ran by Penny Arcade.
The songs that will be available individually and as a pack are “Skullcrusher Mountain” by Jonathan Coulton, “Livin’ on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe” by MC Frontalot, and “Shhh….” by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. Individual song prices are .99¢ (80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track, or $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the 3 pack. All of these songs are the original master recordings. These songs should be available today to purchase for Rock Band on the Xbox360, and for PS3 owners, these tracks will be available on Thursday, September 4, 2008.
