Games for GI’s

What is the one of the biggest holidays of the year? Memorial Day. What’s so cool about it? Well, while many people like it because of the 4 day weekend or because it signals that summer is near, Memorial Day is a day that we are to remember all those that gave their life fighting for this country and what they believe in. This day is also about thinking of those that are risking their lives overseas every day. So here at XBL Radio, we decided to hold a game drive for these awesome and sometimes forgot about troops.

Games for GI's

Since XBL Radio is all about the gaming community, we are asking those out there within it to join together and donate what you can. It doesn’t matter if its a new or used game, it doesn’t matter if its for the Xbox 360 or the Nintendo DS nor does it matter if you can only spare one game. All that matters is that we put forth an effort to show support for the troops (our friends, family or strangers) any way you can. It can even be something like MS points or months or years free on Xbox live.

This will go on for the whole month of May. Then at the end of the month XBL Radio will be contacting local recruiters and send all that we have received overseas.

So if your willing to donate, please feel free to send your donations to:

XBL Radio
Games for GI’s
PO Box 4382
Federal Way, WA 98063

If you want to include a thank you card or something with your donation we will be more then happy to pass it along. And everything received here will also go straight to the troops overseas.

I also ask that you help by passing the word about this within the gaming community and help us make a difference. Tell your friends and other websites and ask them to help spread the word about this, because this will be absolutely huge and awesome for our troops.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please feel free to ask away here or you can email myself at Steve@xblradio.com, where I would be more then happy enough to answer any of your questions. By the way, I will be taking the first few comment sections to list those that donated and the donations received so everyone can see how this is going so far. Our goal is at least a total of 50 games but if all goes well and the word gets spread it can be so much more then that.

Thanks for all your help and support now lets send out some games!!

If you run a website and would like to support our cause please email me at Steve@xblradio.com I have pictures and banners being set up right now

We also have a forum discussion for this right here.

We have a flyer made up as well, if you would like to print it off and post it wherever that would be great, here is the link

I think Game Stop has a special on used games, buy 2 get 1 free, so I’ll pick 3 used games to throw in (not sure what yet), I’ll throw in some MS points and some 48 hour trials. My kids want to make some thank you cards to send too. I’ll see what else I can come up with. Maybe a memory card or battery pack and charger and headset.

Let’s reach down to help these guys with their down time. They really deserve it.

Thanks to all who donate and all that work hard to make it happen.

It’s because of these people’s sacrifices that we get to enjoy gaming, XBLRadio, and everything else in our lives. I’m sure anything would be appreciated. There is no worthier cause than supporting our troops.

  10. MrCarpalTunnel Says:

I just want to say I am proud to be a part of this. I will try to rally our listeners and any forums I visit. I am also giving what I can as well. Usually I would trade them in. However, if it can help to entertain the men and women of our armed-forces then I’m all for it.

I know it doesn’t seem important (gaming in the service) however I know that our miltary has many gamers in it. I’ve played Halo 2 with a player who was being shipped out earlier this year.

Some may ask “Why games? Why not donations” I would say: We are a gaming community. We love gamers. We love our Military.
