Your GOTY Results are in!

Posted under Games, Halo, Mr B4, XBL Radio

Well, I was going to wait to post these results, but honestly, I am just too freaking impatient.  I think some of you will be surprised as to which game got the most votes, but most of you wont, I bet.

Check it out for yourselves:

Votes Percent
Bioshock (360) 6 24.00%
Halo 3 (360) 7 28.00%
Mass Effect(360) 4 16.00%
Super Mario Galaxy(Wii) 1 4.00%
Rock Band(PS3,360) 1 4.00%
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune(PS3) 2 8.00%
Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare(360,PS3,PC,DS) 3 12.00%
Assassins Creed(PS3,360) 0 0.00%
Half-Life 2: The Orange Box (360,PC) 2 8.00%
Crysis(PC) 0 0.00%

And the Winner is:

Halo 3 Box

I just want to say thank you to all of you who voted in this poll, all 26 of you, lol.  Either way, your vote counts, and shows you care about what games you play. I honestly have to say that I am surprised.  With all of the COD4, Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Half-Life 2: The Orange Box talk about any one of them possibly being game of the year, and Halo 3 winning the majority of the votes, its just a little bit strange to me.

Other than that, I really don’t have anything else to say. All I’m going to say is share your thoughts and opinions about these results, because your opinion about the games you play does matter.

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off
Take care,
B4

For those who may be wondering…

Posted under XBL Radio

I just wanted to let my fellow gamers know that it’s been fun. However recently (the past few weeks) I had to ask myself: what’s next? I really wanted XBL Radio to survive. To be a place where gamers could get real game talk. Not the Bullshit that passes for a half ass indie radio show. You know what I mean. I wanted something different. I was never interested in anything but a great show for gamers to be entertained by. I wanted to be honest and talk from the heart. I think that’s what hurt us. While other casts doing the same thing were busy kissing ass to get games, passes, interviews and even Awards from their own Communities; I wanted to get gamers interested in intelligent conversation about video games. I think in the end the latter,  and my straight forward approach to certain situations hurt our chances of getting a lot of positive press from the higher-ups. However,  we can end this on one fact: We never caved in. Our loyal fans wanted that.

Although that’s not why I’m throwing in the towell. I’m a gamer first (and unlike some other podcasters) I don’t need the attention that badly. I want to game. So if your interested in the same hit me up sometime on LIVE. As for this site and the whole podcasting/indie news and info scene…. I’m signing out!

No hard feeling, and at least you still have my favorite indie cast: THE FANBOYS to listen too.

Posted under Microsoft, Mr B4, Rumor Control, Tech News, Xbox 360

 Bill Gates PWNAGE

Hey whats up gamers, its B4 here with your latest update as to whats going on in the gaming world.  I found something on xbox360rally.com the other day that I wanted to share with all of you.  Apparently, someone by the name of  “Post Up” in the Xbox forums has posted the list for what is going to be coming to us Xbox owners in the forecoming Fall Dashboard Update.

Here is the list so you can judge for yourself if this update is really worth it or not:

  • Compatibility with 3rd party wireless controllers
  • Compatibility with messenger pad
  • Xbox Live Vision firmware upgrade, sharper image filtering
  • Many more Vision Cam settings
  • New screensaver settings - when away from Xbox 360, screensaver will play for optional time, before screen goes dark
  • New Xbox Live Arcade blade - where you can download, play and learn about Xbox Live Arcade
  • Brand new “web based adver-games” flash games which aren’t downloaded, but are playable bite sized games, accessed via new Xbox Live Arcade Blade

  • New XNA Game Launcher for those that have the program, new options
  • New language, time and date settings
  • New “advertising opportunities” in gameplay
  • Xvid support
  • New “favourites” option via Xbox Live Arcade, can rate according to preference
  • IPTV Functionality - support for TiVo like PVR options. Will be able to record TV direct. Options include source by channel, director, actor and distributor
  • Filter friends list, will be able to filter friends via games
  • New clan support - will be able to launch clan games direct from dashboard, can “fold” friends into new clan category in friends list

  • New option in Marketplace Games tab, search by letter, can be inputted via text pad or console
  • Smarter game settings - you can be messaged via publishers about new in-game content for your games
  • Picture in picture functionality for DVD Drive and some other updated settings
  • Improved USB Keyboard settings
  • Improved voice chat settings in game and from dashboard
  • Faster response times to Redeem Code settings
  • Option to play a Redeemed Code game straight after redeeming code
  • Console will now recognise low Hard Drive space, will inform you immediately if can’t download current item, will automatically download next available that is able.
  • Increased space size for gamerpics and dashboard themes
  • Themes can now be animated
  • Themes may now have sound effects
  • Better slideshow capabilities, new options added. New sound effects and integration with Hard Drive/ PC music capable.
  • New estimated timer for downloads, informing how long download will expect to take
  • After taking a look at list, do you think this update was really necessary, or is it just MS throwing stuff we do not need at us just so they can do some advertising for themselves.  I personally think that even though some of this stuff is cool, especially with the new clan feature and XNA Game launcher support, most of this update is not really anything too exciting or new to me.

So I guess that only leaves me with one question to ask all of you about this Dashboard Update, is it worth it or not?  I will leave that for all of you to decide.

Until next time my friends, this is B4 signing off
    Take Care,

    LIVE on LIVE… on LIVE?

Posted under Market Place, XBL Radio, Xbox Live

Yes!  XBL Radio is officially on LIVE!  The Xbox Live Marketplace, that is.  Due to the hard work of Bobby Blackwolf and Chris Paladino, AllGames.com is now featured in the latest Gamerpics downlaod.  It’s all part of the celebration of Xbox Live turning 5 years old.  I am honored that XBL Radio could be a part of the festives.

    So, do me a favor.
*First, the obvious one:  Download that FREE picture pack and use it.
*Second:  Go here and say thanks to the poeple that made it happen.
    *Third:  That’s it!

If you can do that for me, I would very much appreciate it.  I feel this gamerpic marks a milestone for all the work we at XBL Radio have done.  And it couldn’t have come at a more monumental time:  The celebration of the service that layed the foundation for XBL Radio.

This F*&$in game F*&$ing Blows (and how I really feel)

    Posted under Game Releases, Games

I just wanted to give all our listeners a heads-up.

    This game SUCKS!

I’m a huge fan of the FPS. In recent weeks us FPS die-hards have been blessed. With Halo3, COD4, and several other games it seems the FPS genra didn’t need a shot of adreneline. However, Kane and LYNCH brings that and not much more to the platform.

The story is your usual “I’m a bad-ass mofo” shoot-em up. However this game doesn’t even reach the guilty pleasure aspect. It’s just GUILT that you will have for playing it. The main characters are so vile you won’t be rooting for yourself, let alone care about their outcome. Resevoir Dogs credits had more style.

Gameplay is awkward at best. After playing such well crafted titles in the past weeks it’s hard to go back to a game with this much of an uncontrollable feel. Even the so called tutorial doen’t do a good job of getting the rythem down. How can it? It feels like GTA without the GRAND!

I also would like to comment on the dialouge. They said, at PAX, this was an homage to Tarintino. Damn this is how you pay tribute?  There were so many “F” bombs, I started shouting them back at the game for making me listen. I mean I love Tarantino, I don’t mind cursing, but come on starting a sentence with Fu*$ and then ending it with FU*$ is proof you had nothing to say. It was torture to “F’n”  listen to.

In closing I just wanted to do an early review of my first impressions. I’ve only played for several hours so far, so this is far from over. It may get better. However I don’t want any of you to go out of your way to rent or buy this game and not know what I know. KANE should get LYNCHED!

    Is this offensive to you?

Posted under Game Releases, Mr B4, Video, Xbox 360

Throughout this past week, a video has been released that reveals a love scene in the upcoming RPG Shooter, Mass Effect.  And for whatever the reason, Singapore has banned the game from being released, because it is a lesbian make-out scene, and they find it offensive.  I will show you the video, and you can judge for yourself. Here is the Video:

Now I personally think that there is nothing here that would really be considered offensive.  You don’t see anything you wouldn’t see in a Victoria Secret commercial or Desperate Housewives.  The scene is short and done in good taste.  I guess I only have one question for all of you gamers out there, and that is “Is this offensive to you?”

Until next time gamers, this is B4 signing off
    Take care,
    B4
