For example, you can definitely replay levels on a different difficulty setting without deleting your game. I’ve been doing that all along.

   Have been getting several e-mails and Xbox Messages saying that our review was incomplete (due to not discussing the forge and recordings). However I want to say we will go more into detail on another cast. But for now let me say:

   We rated HALO3 as a single-player game, co-op game, and online game. Though the extra features were a nice add-on; the gameplay didn’t change enough in mechanics and overall presentation to warrent a higher review than BIO shock or Vegas (two games that were a lot more engaging)

   Remember Halo3 is not trying to be COD4 or Vegas, its Halo3..

   The Third times a charm. I never hated on the game. Saying, “I’m glad they brought Halo2 to the 360.” However I did give it an 8. That’s a better than average game. However the lack of a great story and great graphics let me down. After 3 years in-the-making I felt that it would at least bring something I ould be chatting about for months to come (Like the chainsaw in GEARS or the Power Ups in BIOshock) all I got was a few “X” button specials and a lot of the same old story and game. Hell even at the end of the story I can’t find anyone who claims they know what happened to the central charactor for sure: wasn’t that the point?

   Maybe you could keep that format over the next three months or so, where you bring Rusty on at the end of the show and critical crush over hyped games.

   I think Assassin’s Creed is going to suck but i bet it gets 9’s.

   I also think that there is no way a game could get a 8, 9 or 10/10 if it does not have a ‘good’ multiplayer. I mean come on games since to dawn of time have involved more than one player, even pong had two players.
   Single player games should now be rated as Books or DVDs, not games, now that we have XBox Live.

   So yes Bioshock, best DVD I ever played, But I would never rate it as a ‘Full game’. If I did I would give it 7.3/10 because of no multiplayer.

   wow, I’m not really sure how to start this off but here it goes. I’m not a halo fanboy at all but I could not disagree with you guys more on this review.

   Now I’m not saying Halo is a perfect game (8.5 in my book), the game has its holes but so does your arguement on this one, so let me get into it.

   graphics, its done with 640, sd is 480 so its more of an enhanced def, not full high def but not standard def and it was done for lighting reasons(according to bungie).

   maps, the reason your only seeing 3 maps out of all the ones that are in the game is because of the game type that your playing, if your on btb or another game type with 12ish people in the room its not going to pick guardian as the map your playing, its too small, and the other way around too, if you have 4 people total its not going to put you on the desert map. The map is chosen on how many people you have in the room.

   Graphics, not all there, this is a little dissapointing but understandable. I was let down on this.

   The warping issue, this has been like this since Halo 1 on campain, so it was no shocker to me that this would happen, if you played the other Halo games you should know that this would happen.

   Big team battle not ranked, who cares, its up to 12 of your friends playing, it should not be ranked, not by any means, you can still gain exp though so thats a huge plus to me.

   campain maps, yes way to small, and it sucked a ass load running to A to B and back to A and back to B over and over again.

   Maps, not enough of them in the game.

   Multiplayer game options, you guys complained about the lack of game choices in the game, are you sure your playing Halo 3? There is so many game choices here, look around you will find them.

   Gaming ending, if you beat the game on legendary you would have saw an additional scene at the end of the game, but you guys took the easy way out and played the game on easy. Which by the way is why you didn’t get killed by the bad guys, if you have 4 people playing you have to play it on hard.

   And I will have more to write on this, I’m just catching my breath.

   Thats a great point ANZAC (that’s why our community is so smart, comments like yours) however there are many titles that stand alone as a great game without mult-player:

   Geo Wars (small) BIO SHOCK (large)

   I try my best to grade on a curve, however the multi-player is usually my last talking point (unless co-op it doesn’t really change the game mechanics: firing, building, completing levels, etc…)

   Multi-player is commonly tacked on to allow longevity in the game, usually not impacting the plot at all, if any. However as games cross into DVD territory with games like HALO3 and BIO (trying to have a story) I would be amiss not to be critical of that selling point.

   After all the tagline is: FINISH THE FIGHT not UNITE TO FIGHT!

    Steve I understand that you are not able to talk bad about Halo 3. We know u don’t want to get back on MS bad side (LOL). But once again they did not bring anything new to the table that made this game a great game. Every big game line that was on the XBOX (#1) that put out a game with in that line for the 360 made huge improvements. Games like Rain Bow, COD, GRAW, SC and so on. When Madden came out with there first game for the 360 and it got trashed for not bringing anything new to the table for the NEXT GEN gaming system. Why should Halo 3. Bungie put out a new copy of Halo 2 for the 360 and called it Halo 3. At least EA just ported Burnout and did not call it a new game.

    I know what they mean by saying Finish The Fight. They were talking to Rusty cause they know that he did not finish playing Halo 2 and they wanted him to finish the fight.

    With that said, Game Reviews are nothing but opinions and everyone has one. Who’s to say who is right or wrong? Not you or me.

    7.5? What are you guys trying to generate hits by being controversial? Graphics 2.5? Have you guys even noticed the metallic reflections off the giant scarab boss? or the textures on MC armour? You even contradict yourselves in your review by saying they added nothing new like defensive weapons, then you correct yourself by saying well the bubble shield, what about the mobile shield generators, or the shield absorbers, or radar jammers? Not to mention the tons of new added content. (forge, theater, co-op, better stat tracking, hidden skulls)

    To be honest I wasn’t impressed with the games single player, but love all my friends being on Multi-Player. Yes it’s sad I was not BLOWN AWAY, but I think I expressed myself fairly. If I am off, well I’ve made mistakes before.

    As for Steve519: He has his own platform to praise HALO3 and free 360’s. But as for us, we are the ones who paid full price (I bought two by the way, so my kid can play with me on co-op) So I have every right to criticize. However Steve has no concept of OPINION (which is what I said the game review was several times, listen to the review) So I ask; how can an opinion be wrong: Now I have to like what he likes? Think he’s been spending too much time at the Pub letting ChrisP and MS buy him too many rounds!

    @Steve — Big Team Battle should be ranked. It shouldn’t be a cheap ploy for gamers to increase their EXP with no effort. Having fun with more than 8 friends is what custom games are for. Unranked game types allow for players with guests to join the game and that is when the fun is over. If they are on your team, you lose. If they are on the other team, you win. BTB is the only game type that allows for 8v8, it should be ranked. Social BTB should be unranked.

    As for me not knowing about the warping issue, I’m sorry my mommy never net me split screen co-op on HALO 1 and HALO 2 (since there is no ONLINE co-op in those games).

    @Anzak — I like your suggestion. Perhaps we’ll heavily consider it for future shows.

    Well there is one thing that I can tell you is that you can not even see your reflection in the water on this game. Yea what great graphics. You also say we were one of your favorite podcast if that was true then you should have figured out that we would have gave this game a bad review.

    There no secret on how we review games that are sequels. We have to ask ourself whats new about the game and we gave you our take.

    If you decide to stop downloading our show cause we have our own opinions and they don’t always meet yours, then that fine by me.

    First of all, you guy’s did not finish the game. If you wait till after the credits roll you will see the rest of the ending and also a little extra on legendary. You guys talk about Master Chief missing charisma. Well, you need to learn the story he is a freaking cyborg, half man, half machine. When is the last time you have seen a cyborg in a movie have emotion. Hell, Cortana has more and she is an AI. The other human characters carry the charisma like SGT. Johnson or even your fellow solders or the covenant there in game banter is hilarious. Go to some other websites like IGN, Teamxbox or 1up and you will see clearly you don’t understand the point of this game. It plays like HALO, it looks like HALO and it also sounds like HALO, wake up this is the HALO universe.

    As for as graphics go, you can not compare this game to gears of war. Although it was a great looking game, you are fighting in a linear one closed room battle vs. the guys at Bungie having to render the insides of everything in a massive level. For example, the freakin speedometer in vehicle’s all the way down to a single blade of grass at the end of the part of a level you have not reached yet. This has to be done so you can view everything perfect in saved replays. If you are a developer hearing this or having to do this will make you shit your pants, its that hard to do. I think you guys are flaming Bungie a little to hard, they did exactly what all the fans were asking them to do after HALO 2. I guess you cant please everyone. To reiterate my earlier point, please learn the HALO story it is a really good saga, be sure to pay close attention to all the cut scenes from HALO1, HALO2 and HALO3. I had a few friends who were confused initially also but when you put all three Halo cut scenes all together it comes together nice and they all agreed. It is very subtle and detail oriented you have to pay really close attention to understand it.

    Sorry, if i come off hostile but it seems you guys are rating the game on the hype and not the actual game and how it expands the halo universe. Sounds like you guys wanted to play and review COD4 which is great, but its not Halo 3.

    First off Jean Claud VanDamm had more charisma as a cyborg in CYBORG!

    You can have a robot and still give him personality, look at Biddy from Buck Rogers, DATA from Star Trek, Swartzenegger from T1-2-3.

    I think I made my point. Master Chiefs only cool feature is he is part of a video game franchise. And has a nice helmet.

    And by the way I am looking forward to COD4, but will still be enjoying the cheezy cartoony graphics on halo3 multi-player even after COD4 arrives.

    I think the Master Chief was never meant to be a charismatic hero. He just happened to be the last spartan left to fight and really the next soldier in line hence the number 117.

    He was there only to kick ass and complete his mission. He is not meant to be a one liner spewing, emotional, role model for the kids type character. He is more like a super soldier in the rawest since of it. Meaning give him a gun and tell him what to shoot. let the other guys handle the Hollywood BS. And personally I think thats cool, cause who really has time for emotional speeches when things are trying to kill you.

    When/if this peter Jackson movie comes out, it will be based around the HALO story as a whole and not the Master Chief’s. Because he is only a piece of a much bigger puzzle.

    You make some great points. Do I think I was to hard on Halo 3. Yea I was. The reason for that was cause they hyped this game up to be the best thing to come out since sliced bread and its not. It is the same as Halo 2, not much different between the 2.

    I don’t want Halo 3 to be like COD,GRAW, and so on. I used those games to make a point on how other franchise have made improvements in leaps and bonds.

    As far as completing the game we did. If you listen to the end of the podcast you would have heard where carpal changed his score to a lower # after completing the game.

    I think Halo 3 is a ok game but if all my friends were not playing this game neither would I. Also if this was the first time I had played any of the Halo’s I would have given it a better score but its not. I did play H1, H2, & H3.

    Thanks for your post I do see where you are coming from and respect your opinion.
    Also when I gave my review it was not to piss people off and to hate on Bungie it was my own personal fillings about the game that came out.
