GTA IV Delayed 6+ Months

Yes, you read it correctly. Today, Take Two Interactive announced that Grand Theft Auto IV will be delayed until the second quarter of 2008 for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Such a highly anticipated title for this year and the cornerstone of Microsoft’s “perfect storm” has now been pushed back several months due to “additional development time required to complete the title.” However, this announcement should not be viewed as unfortunate; but we now know that Rockstar Games cares enough to launch a quality AAA title. It is also understandable that Grand Theft Auto in particular would take a long time to develop due to high expectations and a likely hood of a plethora of tech issues. Being able to manage so much AI and physics at one time on a console must be difficult and it would require a long time. At least this is the first big title that is known to release for sure in 2008.
I think I speak for most of us when I say…My gamer heart is a little sad, but my wallet is breathing a little sigh of joy since this holiday is already making its stitches pop.
sure one less game to buy this holiday… but what about now two games that were told to be out this year and now delayed… Splinter Cell: conviction was show at e3 and said to come out, we all knew it wouldn’t but whats next…
Splitner cell delayed too, geez. For the love of god do not get rid of madden, or i will be one mad gamer.
Personaly I think there is nothing bad about this. For example Halo 3, anybody planing on playing the multiplayeris going to put in a LOT of hours. For those of us planing on getting Masseffect thats over 100 hours. Rock Band depending on your friends could also consume alot of time. My point is there are so many games coming out this fall you’re going to be backed up till 08 anyway.
Between renting games and buying Halo 3 and Winning Eleven in October, I’m going to be gaming too hard to buy anything else.
OH…wait…that Spiderman trilogy is coming out in October too on Blu Ray.
I guess GTA being delayed is a good thing after all.
