I think it would be awesome to get those political guys on the show
great show you guys, loved every min of it especially the 360fs segment and the revamped market place minute.
Congrats to KickassMtnBiker on winning as well!
Great show, guys. Nice to have Carpal back in the saddle, even if Steve did a great job in his absence.
Seems EA can’t win. Just how much would they need to add to NCAA to merit a purchase for you? From 07 to 08 we get:
• Expanded playbooks and trick plays
• Campus Legend mode
• Video & Photo highlights that you can save and upload to the web
• Improved graphics and animations
• Gang tackling (which is a HUGE addition that directly affects gameplay)
• More–and more refined–stadiums
• ESPN Radio integration
• Super-sim mode
• Greatly expanded pre-snap adjustments, especially on defense
• And, most significantly, they really improved control. Taking charge of a DB in pass coverage now approaches the fine control that you used to have back in 2004, previously the high-watermark of playability and fun in the series.
So, again I ask–what would they need to add or change in 09 to make it worthy of a purchase?
wow, nice feedback mik and thanks for mentioning what was new. I thought the score was a little harsh myself but does all that you list warrent 60 dollars? Or is it really worth a 20 dollar DLC?
Love the cast. I think TOG was judging the game based on playing football not xtras. I figure he liked the 07 play better. When are some ps3 games comming to reviews. Would like to hear steve v.s. Carp on a cross-plat title.
Good show. Nice to have you back.
The ‘art’ aspect of videogames is hard to define, as it is slightly subjective. When videogames get pumped out sequel after sequel, it becomes hard to consider some as artistic.
And Gui J, now that you have your 360 back I think you should give Vampire Rain a spin. Thanks for letting the public know about the bonus missions. The fun never ends with that game! (Sarcasm)
@gameraddict actually we had a ps3 review our last .0 show
In my review I talked well about the game I like the game it a good game. Now most of the new add-ons in the game are not that new for EA. They come from different games like Burnout, Tiger Woods 07, and so on. Yea they are neat but how fun is it to put your new game in and sit and listen to ESPN radio instead of playing the game. If thats what you want to do then buy a radio it’s a lot cheaper.
I gave this game a passing grade (just barley) but if you own NCAA 07 I don’t see any reason to go out and buy NCAA 08 it’s a waste of money. As far as the stadiums; come on now there’s not enough, in the game, that I can tell to make a differences. Unless you count when my players keep going through the fence like ghost into the stands. (I see football players) Now that’s a cool add on.
Well, I listed ten items–admittedly half of them were “frosting”–nothing that really affects the game. But the other five are pretty significant gameplay improvements for someone really into football sims. If you think the gameplay in 07 was at the same level of refinement and control as this version, you may not be one of those people, which is just fine–and I’d understand not feeling justified with the purchase in that case.
Now, when do I get to face the Tide online?
IF YOUR WAITING ON ME YOUR BACKING UP>
I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding XBL Radio ver 49.0: ROID RAGE!!!, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong
