Enough BRAN and GAMING too keep you regular!

Posted under Xbox

XBOX and Kelloggs have teamed up. Certain cereals include an Xbox mini-game. The following games are running in the promotion -

  • Spaceship Blaster - Eliminate the enemy spaceships before they reach you.
  • Motorcycle Madness - Avoid or eliminate oncoming traffic to move up a level and win.
  • Disco Mania - Copy the dance instructor’s moves to move through the levels.
  • Robo Blast - Capture the robots before they escape.
  • Mystic Castle - Navigate through the castle, collecting gems and defeating enemies.

I wish a mini-HALO was in the line-up. However at least you wont have to send off 30 proof-of-purchaces.Â

Xbox Live started in the 90’s?

Posted under Xbox

I was going through some junk the other day and what did I find? Well, it was the Sega Channel cartridge! With this device you were able to get up to 50 saga games a month as well as demos of games to be released. It was the first downloadable console system out on the market. If I am not mistaken it cost around $20 a month. Wow! 50 games a month for only $20.

The only downfall was that the titles would change every month. So right when you were in the middle of a game, it was gone. Also, I can’t remember but I don’t think you could use in game saves, you would have to leave the system on.

It looks like Microsoft has picked up where Sega left off and improved a system which was the best thing out since slice bread. I just whish Xbox Live offered a monthly game library that you could play through. I would certainly pay an extra fee. Also they could still have it to where if you wanted to buy the game, you could. That way you can play the game of you choice every month.

The Nutcracker Suite: Jackass 2

Posted under Movies, Xbox

The first one was pure “SHOCK VIDEO”. So how were they going to top it. Well you have to give them an E for effort. JACKASS 2 is back, as if we would ever forget the 1st one, and the gang is reuinited once again. From the opening scene (a mock Running with the Bulls emulation) you know that this will be a train-wreck that you can’t stop watching. From complete gross-out scenes, to the usuall ball crushing, bruise inducing, body mangling stunts; Jackass 2 never lets up.

Johnny Knoxville and Co always seem to find a way to make me keep watching, even though I find myself cringing. I cant say this movie was “better” than the original. (the 1st installment had taken film to a new level) However, this film compliments your Jackass collection (if you have one) quite nicely with such scenes as: Snakes on a Ball-Pit, The Gas Chamber, a Beer-Enema, Terrorist-Taxi, and more…

In one scene a fellow Jackoff states, “Please no Jackass 3!” My gut instinct says he’s got a point. However if there is another, I would be a JACKASS not to go along for the ride!

Xbox 360 issues? Microsoft will pay for it.

Posted under Microsoft, Steve519, Tech News, Xbox

As reported on Kotaku, Microsoft has owned up to all the faulty consoles that they were shipping. If you have bought a console with a manufacturer date before Jan 1, 2006, which would make your Xbox currently out of warranty, Microsoft will repair your console for free, thats right, free. And for those of you that have paid for a repair, Kotaku is reporting that you can get a refund for the repair amount. Wow, this is really cool to see, and its about time. Mine was one of those systems that would have been in this date. So if you have had any problems with your Xbox be sure to call MS up about this.
